Job Overview
The Applications Sr. Developer is a senior dev position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application requirements front to back. We need autonomous, independent, self-starters that can get up to speed quickly and follow established practices.
Responsibilities
- Analyze tasks, provide time estimates, implement new or revised application requirements, and support end users as needed. We own the code we write, even after it’s shipped.
- Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users.
- Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes.
- Identify and suggest improvements to the established workflows we follow, learn always, and raise concerns with the group when a gap is noticed.
- Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts (after understanding established guidelines).
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Recommended Qualifications
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in Java App development.
- Experience writing performant JPA for CRUD API’s in Spring.
- UI experience with Angular / AG Grid.
- Experience working with microservices and related concepts (Gateway, reverse proxy, JWT tokens).
- Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
The expected base salary range for this position is $60 – $65 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity.
