Job Summary
Specific Duties
Under the direction of the Regional Principal, the incumbent will be responsible for the Physical Plant and grounds and provide afternoon and evening supervision of the facility which includes maintenance, cleanliness, monitoring use, and security.
- assume overall responsibility for the physical plant and grounds;
- monitor, troubleshoot, conduct general maintenance on all aspects of the buildings operation i.e., boiler, computerized heating system, plumbing;
- determine building maintenance cycles and locate most suitable vendor or contractor for various needs;
- determine facility services, space requirement, and equipment and material needs for campus and off-side classrooms.
- delegate, monitor and supervise two part-time custodians and trades/technical contractors;
- assess and determine action needed for inappropriate or potentially violent behaviour;
- provide evening instructors, students and community users with all information, equipment, and supplies needed for smooth operation of evening courses;
- monitor evening use of classrooms and offices to ensure only college sanctioned activities and users are on the premises;
- secure the facility ensuring all doors and windows are locked; and intruder alarm is activated, and notifying appropriate officials in the event of an emergency;
- clean & maintain all floors, walls, windows, furniture, equipment, shelving, bathroom fixtures, doors, chalk & white boards, and other miscellaneous furniture and fixtures;
- conduct minor repairs and maintenance of fixtures, furniture and equipment;
- provide improvements, maintenance and cleaning for building & exterior grounds
- collect miscellaneous course fees;
- maintain tools and equipment;

Skills & Qualifications
- Previous one year post secondary training in related areas;
- 2 years or more two years previous supervisory experience;
- previous custodial and maintenance experience;
- ability to perform semi-skilled minor mechanical and building repairs;
- Must have Occupational First Aid Level 1 or Safety Oriented First Aid Ticket;

- sound judgment and problem solving skills;
- ability to maintain confidentiality;
- basic knowledge of most trades;
- mechanically inclined;
- good knowledge of safety procedures;
- good physical condition.
