Original job description

Overview

Colliers Project Leaders is a team committed to projects that make a difference in communities and for the people who live there.

We deliver capital project solutions that strengthen the built environment, partnering with our clients to bring critical infrastructure and complex building projects to life.

We’ve led over 20,000+ projects that:

Make cities more livable
Enhance workplaces
Create spaces people want to return to
Improve patient care
Deliver clean drinking water
Build a sustainable future

And so much more.

This is where you come in. We’re looking for people to join our team who are passionate about creating more sustainable, resilient and inclusive communities.

If this kind of work resonates with you, you’re in the right place.

Your Role

To support us in our efforts to take on new and challenging projects, Colliers Project Leaders is seeking a Project Manager with specialized expertise in the execution of building and/or infrastructure construction projects.

Responsibilities

Build strong relationships with clients and serve as a single point of contact to ensure the achievement of their strategic goals and aspirations
Lead work programs and major capital projects of varying size, scope, and complexity
Meet or exceed client expectations for all projects and represent their interests regarding contractual and technical matters
Lead project meetings and client meetings. Manage multiple stakeholders and communication flows
Provide regular progress reports on projects through schedule updates, meeting minutes, financial data, and other reports
Oversee and manage the change management process, payment certificates, and other administrative documents related to contracts or projects
Oversee the control of project-related documents and ensure that work complies with our quality management system and procedures

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of experience as a project manager representing owners in the execution of building development, infrastructure, and capital improvement projects for institutional clients (healthcare, higher education), municipalities, government agencies (provincial and/or federal), and First Nations governments
University degree in engineering, architecture, or construction economics (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
Excellent knowledge of various design and construction methods, project management and financial management models, as well as building codes, contract law, and relevant legislation
Excellent understanding of project management methods
Strong leadership skills and an excellent ability to influence others and successfully resolve a wide range of client, project, and technical issues
Proven experience in delivering projects from the concept development stage through to occupancy and warranty inspections
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong computer skills and practical knowledge of planning (MS Project), word processing (Word), and spreadsheet (Excel) applications
ASP card
Engineering degree or PMP certification is a plus; other qualifications are welcome

Don’t have every single qualification? We know that some people are less likely to apply for a job unless they are a perfect match. At Colliers Project Leaders, we’re not looking for “perfect matches.” We’re looking to welcome people to our diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. So, if you’re excited about this role but don’t have every single qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway. Whether it’s this role or another one, you may be just the right candidate.

What you can expect:

An opportunity to truly impact our communities
A flexible work environment
A comprehensive onboarding experience
Significant professional development, training, and a mentorship program
A paid volunteer day
An environment where people feel welcome, heard and included, regardless of their differences
And much more!

Join our team of difference-makers and help shape the growth of dynamic communities.
