INTRODUCTION:

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Your commitment to serving the needs of our clients and employees will encourage client and employee loyalty and enhance our organization’s success.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Ensure access control is followed, and client property is secured
Operate a truck gate, including managing vehicle flow and performing duties in all weather conditions
Escort visitors as required
Monitor CCTV equipment
Respond to alarms and utilize alarm panels
Assist employees, clients, and visitors
Maintain a positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors, and clients
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
Must be able to rotate between East and South gates
Complete daily logs and reports as necessary
Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

*MUST* have Ontario Security Guard License
*MUST* have a valid First Aid and CPR certificate
*MUST* be able to obtain a Reliability (Level I) Security Clearance (requires 5 years of residency in Canada)
*MUST* have access to personal vehicle, this will be used for patrol duties; mileage will be reimbursed
*MUST* have a Full G class license and Clean Drivers Abstract
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Strong understanding of computers and security related principles
Ability to stand/sit for long periods
Must be able to handle confidential information with a high level of discretion
Must be able to make quick, sound decisions in emergency response situations with minimal supervision
Must be able to work alone while maintaining a high level or service to the client is essential
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and perform in stressful situations

Rate of Pay: $20.18 per hour
Working Hours:

- Week 1: Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday (1900 - 0700hrs)
- Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday (1900 - 0700hrs)
Location: 400 Chisholm Drive, Milton, Ontario
