Accountabilities
- Performing routine cleaning (surface disinfection, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, etc.) of all areas of the facility including but not limited to occupied/unoccupied patient rooms, clinics, nursing stations, waiting rooms, lobbies, washrooms, offices, kitchens, operating rooms, utility rooms, corridors, morgues, equipment, and public areas in accordance with quality standards, procedures, and departmental training
- Successful candidates may also be trained in the use of motorized cleaning equipment and performing floor care
- Attending staff meetings, safety huddles, education, and training as required
- Utilizing hospital approved cleaning chemicals and equipment (such as ladders, mops, vacuums and some motorized cleaning equipment) in accordance with departmental training and procedures
- Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniform as required
- Performing other duties in support of the housekeeping function and other duties as assigned and/or required by a supervisor or Manager
- Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record required
- Must be able to work where exposed to infection, blood/human waste, odors and work interruptions
- Schedule may include weekend work; effort will be made to give one weekend off in two.
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to be standing/walking for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform repetitive activities such as lifting (up to 44 lbs. or 8-20 kg), reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, walking and occasionally climbing ladders as required
- Ability to process information, organize and prioritize tasks
- Must possess sufficient practical experience to perform the responsibilities of the position

Responsibilities
Clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, offices, washrooms, and other facility spaces using approved chemicals and equipment in accordance with procedures and quality standards. Attend required meetings and training, use PPE, and support housekeeping operations while following safety requirements.
Requirements
Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak English, work independently and as part of a team, and organize and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. The role requires extended standing and walking, repetitive physical activity including lifting up to 44 pounds, and practical experience sufficient to perform the duties.
