Accountabilities
- Performing routine cleaning (surface disinfection, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, etc.) of all areas of the facility including but not limited to occupied/unoccupied patient rooms, clinics, nursing stations, waiting rooms, lobbies, washrooms, offices, kitchens, operating rooms, utility rooms, corridors, morgues, equipment, and public areas in accordance with quality standards, procedures, and departmental training
- Successful candidates may also be trained in the use of motorized cleaning equipment and performing floor care
- Attending staff meetings, safety huddles, education, and training as required
- Utilizing hospital approved cleaning chemicals and equipment (such as ladders, mops, vacuums and some motorized cleaning equipment) in accordance with departmental training and procedures
- Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniform as required
- Performing other duties in support of the housekeeping function and other duties as assigned and/or required by a supervisor or Manager
- Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record required
- Must be able to work where exposed to infection, blood/human waste, odors and work interruptions
- Schedule may include weekend work; effort will be made to give one weekend off in two.
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to be standing/walking for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform repetitive activities such as lifting (up to 44 lbs. or 8-20 kg), reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, walking and occasionally climbing ladders as required
- Ability to process information, organize and prioritize tasks
- Must possess sufficient practical experience to perform the responsibilities of the position

Responsibilities
Clean and disinfect facility areas, including patient rooms, clinics, washrooms, operating rooms, and public spaces, using approved chemicals and equipment. Attend required meetings and training, follow safety procedures and wear required protective equipment, and support housekeeping duties as assigned.
Requirements
Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak English, work independently in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with a team. The role requires extended standing and walking, repetitive physical tasks including lifting up to 44 pounds, and the ability to organize and prioritize work; practical experience sufficient to perform the duties is required.
