The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. Now, If You Were To Come On Board As One Of Our Sector Controllers We’d Ask You To Do The Following For Us
- Own the accuracy and integrity of the financial statements for your assigned branches by reconciling balances to supporting source documents (contracts, vendor invoices, inventory counts, and subledgers).
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring every account is supported, variances are investigated and cleared, and aged or unsupported items are resolved on a timely basis.
- Prepare month-end accruals and reversals with sound supporting documentation, and ensure the accounting treatment follows GAAP and client contract terms.
- Perform the month-end P&L review: analyze actual-to-budget and period-over-period variances, trace unusual items back to source transactions, and document explanations.
- Reconcile subledgers (AR, AP, inventory, fixed assets, payroll) to the general ledger and investigate and correct discrepancies before close.
- Maintain clear audit trails and reconciliation support that meet internal control, audit, and compliance requirements.
- Automate recurring reconciliations and monthly reporting to reduce manual effort and error, and translate findings into clear recommendations for FP&A, District General Managers, and Branch Managers.
- Help unit managers understand and fulfill the financial terms and obligations of client contracts, including billing, commissions, and revenue recognition.
- Respond to financial queries from Operations and Management, providing timely, accurate, and well-supported information.
- Provide backup support to Accounts Receivable for vacation coverage only.
- Other accounting duties as assigned.

- CPA designation (or actively pursuing it), with a Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Accounting (or equivalent) and a solid understanding of GAAP.
- Proven experience performing balance sheet and subledger-to-GL reconciliations and tying financial statement balances to source documentation.
- Data analytical strength with a proven track record of automating reports and converting raw data into business recommendations that improve financial performance.
- Three years’ experience in a computerized accounting environment (JD Edwards and SEED by Cantaloupe experience preferred).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly advanced Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, well-organized team player capable of contributing to a very busy accounting department.
- Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing business needs and processes.
- Able to balance team and individual responsibilities.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
