Original job description

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. Reporting to the Director, Strategic Development, this role will play a key role in driving strategic initiatives, business process improvements, and data-driven decision making across Foodbuy. You will join a small but growing, high-impact team focused on identifying opportunities to improve operational effectiveness, enhance the member experience, support revenue growth, and strengthen how the organization uses data and technology to achieve its objectives.

This role is ideally suited for a business-minded problem solver who enjoys leading cross-functional projects, documenting and redesigning processes, managing change, and bringing structure to complex challenges. While strong analytical and reporting capabilities are important, the primary focus of the role is helping the business operate more effectively through strategic initiatives, process excellence, and stakeholder engagement. You will partner closely with leaders across Member Development, Operations, Data Intelligence, Finance, IT, and other business functions to identify opportunities, solve problems, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Strategic Projects & Process Improvement (70%)

Lead cross-functional strategic projects from discovery through implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
Facilitate workshops and working sessions to gather requirements, understand pain points, and document current and future state processes.
Map and analyze end-to-end business processes to identify inefficiencies, control gaps, unclear handoffs, duplicated effort, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and maintain process documentation, operating models, accountability frameworks, and business requirements.
Drive project governance, stakeholder communications, change management activities, and implementation plans.
Collaborate across departments to ensure new initiatives are successfully adopted and deliver intended business outcomes.
Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and process improvements to reduce manual effort and improve scalability.
Support strategic planning initiatives, operational reviews, and continuous improvement activities across the organization.
Develop business cases, project plans, recommendations, and executive presentations to support decision-making.
Develop and maintain process documentation, operating models, accountability frameworks, business requirements, and governance materials that enable consistent execution.

Data Enablement & Business Intelligence (30%)

Partner with functional stakeholders to define reporting objectives, business questions, decision-making needs, and measures of success.
Translate functional requirements into clear business requirements, KPI definitions, reporting logic, and design guidance for Data Intelligence, Finance, IT, and other technical teams.
Guide and influence the development of reporting solutions to ensure they are business-relevant, intuitive, actionable, and aligned with stakeholder needs.
Map and document the end-to-end flow of data across source systems, transformations, calculations, reports, and downstream business processes.
Develop accessible data-flow documentation and educational materials that help functional teams understand where information originates, how it is processed, and how it should be interpreted.
Educate and enable functional stakeholders to use reporting effectively, understand key data considerations, and translate insights into appropriate business actions.
Develop and maintain business-facing documentation, training materials, and reference guides that help stakeholders understand key datasets, system interactions, reporting logic, data limitations, and best practices for interpreting and using information.
Own technology changes, investment analysis and new requests for all Foodbuy Canada systems, including CRM (powered by Microsoft Dynamics), Supply Chain, MPower, and more.
Manage key strategic technology-related projects across Foodbuy Canada, managing stakeholder engagement, feature validation, process creation, timeline, risks and decisions.
Be an AI champion for Foodbuy Canada, seeking opportunities to incorporate artificial intelligence in day-to-day work to increase efficiency across the business, while also researching new technologies to invest in.
Develop KPI frameworks, scorecards, metric definitions, and reporting standards that improve consistency across teams.
Partner with Data Intelligence, Finance, and IT to identify data-quality issues, reporting gaps, unclear ownership, and opportunities to improve the accessibility and reliability of insights.
Independently design and develop Power BI dashboards or analytical outputs for select strategic initiatives, emerging business needs, or requests not supported through centralized reporting teams.
Support ad hoc analysis and insight generation to inform strategic projects and business decisions.
Identify opportunities to use Power Automate and other technologies to streamline workflows, improve controls, and reduce manual effort.

5-8+ years of experience in strategy, business transformation, process improvement, project management, consulting, business intelligence, or a related field.
Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution.
Strong process mapping and business analysis skills, with experience documenting current and future state workflows.
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across multiple teams and functions.
Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Strong organizational and project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Naturally curious with a passion for solving problems and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with ambiguity and evolving priorities.
Experience developing executive-level presentations, recommendations, and business cases.
Strong working knowledge of Power BI, including dashboard development, report design, Power Query, and data modeling, with the ability to independently build reporting solutions when required and provide informed guidance to technical teams.
Working knowledge of SQL is considered an asset but is not required.
Experience with Power Automate and workflow automation is considered a strong asset.
Ability to interpret and analyze data to support business decision-making.
Experience collaborating with technology, data, and business teams to implement solutions.
Familiarity with change management, operational excellence, or continuous improvement methodologies is considered an asset.
