Original job description
This is a posting for an existing vacancy.
Compass Group Canada is looking for a Corporate Treasury Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery, control and continuous improvement of corporate treasury operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance leader who combines strong accounting fundamentals with sound judgement, a control mindset and a commitment to developing people and improving processes.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Treasury, you will oversee key cash-management, banking, payment, reconciliation, reporting, audit-support and treasury-system activities. You will partner with Finance teams, Group Treasury, banking partners and auditors to help ensure treasury activities are accurate, timely, well controlled and appropriately documented.
Now, If You Were To Come On Board As Our Corporate Treasury Manager, We’d Ask You To Do The Following For Us
- Lead, coach and support the Corporate Treasury team, balancing priorities, deadlines, development, cross-training and backup coverage.
- Oversee daily cash positioning, cash balancing and cash-file activities, reviewing material variances, unusual transactions and liquidity requirements.
- Coordinate weekly cash-forecast reporting to Group Treasury, ensuring actuals, assumptions, commentary and supporting schedules are complete and accurate.
- Review wires, tax payments, payroll-related submissions, cheque processes, intercompany settlements and other treasury transactions within approved authority and segregation-of-duty requirements.
- Oversee bank reconciliations, treasury balance-sheet accounts, journal entries, cash-in-transit reporting and period-end deliverables.
- Own assigned treasury controls and support internal, external and client audits with clear, complete and audit-ready evidence.
- Investigate errors, control exceptions and recurring operational issues, identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Partner with IT and business teams on JD Edwards processes, banking platforms, system maintenance, troubleshooting and treasury-related changes.
- Identify and implement opportunities to simplify, standardize and automate treasury processes while maintaining effective controls and audit evidence.
- Build strong working relationships across Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Tax, Legal, IT, Operations, Group Treasury and external banking partners.
Think you have what it takes to be our Corporate Treasury Manager? We’re committed to hiring the best talent for the role. Here’s how we’ll know you’ll be successful in the role:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- At least three years of accounting, treasury, cash-management or banking experience.
- Previous experience leading, coaching or supervising a team in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong knowledge of cash management, bank reconciliations, general-ledger accounting, payments, controls and period-end reporting.
- Excellent analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365. Experience with JD Edwards, online banking platforms, workflow tools or automation is an asset.
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and with external partners.
- A practical, collaborative approach and the ability to manage competing priorities with an appropriate sense of urgency.
- Join an award-winning culture. We have been recognized for being a Great Place to Work, in addition to being selected as a FORTUNE Global 500 Company, Best Workplaces Retail & Hospitality, and FORTUNE World’s Most Admired Companies.
- The opportunities with us are endless. As the world’s largest food and support services company, we offer an extensive range of learning and career opportunities for all our associates.
- Health & Safety. The health and safety of our associates, clients and guests has always been our top priority. We have the right processes in place to ensure our teams have the support they need to stay safe, while helping to keep our guests safe.
- Health Benefits. For our eligible associates, we offer comprehensive health, vision, and dental care coverage.
- A Focus on Mental Health and Wellness. We also have an Employment Assistance Program which provides our associates with access to 24/7 support, resources, and information.
- We are as diverse as our guests. We are as diverse as the people and communities we serve, and we know that’s one of our greatest strengths. We’re committed to building an inclusive workplace where people feel respected, supported, and able to grow, with fair opportunities for all.
