Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Server Administrator with a strong background in enterprise infrastructure, Windows Server administration, VMware virtualization, and NetApp storage technologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing on-premises server and storage environments, including NetApp infrastructure, Windows Server systems, and VMware virtual environments.

This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong troubleshooting capabilities, experience with server patching and maintenance, and the ability to support ongoing infrastructure projects, upgrades, and daily IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, rack, mount, cable, configure, and test NetApp storage hardware within on-premises infrastructure environments.
• Administer and maintain NetApp storage systems, including storage provisioning, configuration, ONTAP upgrades, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Support NetApp MetroCluster infrastructure, including implementation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
• Administer, maintain, and patch Windows Server 2016/2022 environments, ensuring system stability, security, and performance.
• Manage VMware/vSphere environments, including virtual machines, ESXi hosts, resource allocation, system upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows infrastructure services.
• Perform server maintenance, operating system updates, security patching, and infrastructure health checks.
• Support data migration, legacy data cleanup, storage optimization, and system transition activities.
• Troubleshoot server, storage, virtualization, networking, and operational issues to minimize downtime.
• Assist with Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and SCCM administration and maintenance activities.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, system restoration, and business continuity processes.
• Assist with security administration, certificate management, access controls, and infrastructure compliance.
• Utilize PowerShell and other administrative tools to support system maintenance, troubleshooting, and automation.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, hardware replacements, system migrations, and technology improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with local IT teams, international colleagues, and technical stakeholders to resolve issues and support ongoing operations.
• Provide day-to-day operational support, technical documentation, and proactive infrastructure maintenance.
  
  
  

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in server administration, infrastructure support, or a similar technical role.
• Mandatory: Hands-on experience with NetApp on-premises storage systems, including setup, configuration, provisioning, ONTAP upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Mandatory: Strong Windows Server 2016/2022 administration experience, including hands-on server patching, updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Mandatory: Solid VMware/vSphere administration experience supporting enterprise virtual server environments.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows infrastructure services.
• Experience with physical server hardware, rack installations, cabling, storage connectivity, and infrastructure deployments.
• Familiarity with NetApp MetroCluster architecture, implementation, or ongoing support.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and SCCM.
• Experience with networking fundamentals, storage technologies, and SAN environments.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions, infrastructure security, and certificate management.
• Experience using PowerShell for system administration, scripting, or automation.
• Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams and stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
• Ability to work onsite in Delta, BC and provide hands-on infrastructure support as required.
