Original job description

Concordia University's Department of Biology is seeking a tenure-track in Fungal Genomics and Biomanufacturing (position code 26-T-BIOL-O), with duties in research, graduate and undergraduate teaching, and service.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Biology or a related field and have academic or professional experience commensurate with the Associate Professor rank preferred (flexible). They will show strong potential to build an externally funded research program that uses genomic and synthetic biology approaches in fungal or microbial systems, for example biosynthetic gene cluster engineering, secretion pathway regulation, or enzymes and metabolites for biomass conversion and human health. They should also show potential for excellent teaching. The position offers access to the Genome Foundry, the Bioprocessing Centre, and other Concordia research centres.

-> To apply, send a cover letter that cites the position code (26-T-BIOL-O), a detailed CV, a 1-2 page research plan, a teaching statement, and three reference letters to Department Administrator Ian Tonnies (ian.tonnies@concordia.ca), addressed to the Department Chair, Dr. Michael Sacher. The cover letter should describe how your background and experience prepare you to teach a diverse student body. Applicants must state whether or not they are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
