About the Opportunity
Our Finance & Billing team is growing, and we're looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist II to take ownership of our customer billing and receivables operations. This role sits at the intersection of revenue recognition, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence - you'll be the person ensuring our billing systems, customer accounts, and revenue records are accurate and timely.
- Why does this role exist? - As we scale our customer base, billing complexity is increasing (multi-entity contracts, usage-based pricing, amendments). We need someone who can own the end-to-end billing lifecycle and act as the subject matter expert for our AR function.
- What does this person actually own? - You'll manage new customer billing setup, investigate billing discrepancies, partner on collections activities, maintain accurate customer account data across systems, and drive process improvements that reduce manual work and errors.
- Who do they work with and how? - You'll collaborate directly with Sales (on contract accuracy), Customer Success (on cancellations and expansions), Finance & Accounting (on revenue reconciliation), and your AR team.
- What does success look like in year one? - You'll have established yourself as the go-to billing expert, reduced billing errors and customer disputes, documented and streamlined key AR processes, and built trust with both internal teams and customers.
- Own the end-to-end billing process for new customers: validate contract terms and Salesforce data, set up invoices in Maxio, and ensure accurate revenue recognition from day one.
- Manage recurring, usage-based, and one-time invoices across Conexiom's customer base, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with contractual terms.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of billing discrepancies, customer inquiries, and receivables issues - escalating complex or unusual cases to Finance & Accounting.
- Maintain the accuracy and completeness of customer account data across all billing and CRM systems (payment terms, billing schedules, tax details, billing contacts).
- Support collections activities by resolving billing-related disputes and identifying root causes to prevent recurrence.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success on contract amendments, cancellations, and renewals to ensure billing systems reflect the latest customer agreements.
- Identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone processes in the billing and AR workflow and propose and help implement improvements and automation.
- Own the AR email inbox, respond to customer billing questions in a timely manner, and flag systemic issues to the team.
- Assist with churn requests, process customer cancellations, and support audit requests with accurate documentation and supporting materials.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in billing, accounts receivable, accounting, or a related finance role.
- Deep understanding of invoicing, AR processes, and customer account management - you can spot billing errors and discrepancies quickly.
- Experience with Claude or other AI-assisted tools for data analysis, process automation, or productivity.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with billing systems, CRM platforms (ideally Salesforce), or accounting software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a systematic approach to investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently while collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and customer-facing presence - you can explain billing issues clearly and de-escalate frustrated customers.
- Experience in a SaaS, technology, or subscription/recurring-revenue environment.
- Familiarity with billing systems like Maxio, Zuora, or Stripe Billing.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, etc.) or complex multi-entity billing.
- Exposure to automation tools or process improvement initiatives.
- Basic SQL or data analysis skills to pull and validate billing reports.
Impactful Work
You won't be maintaining the status quo here. In this role, you'll directly influence revenue recognition accuracy, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Your work ensures our customers are billed correctly and on time - and that friction points are resolved before they become churn risks. That's impact.
Real Growth, Not Just a Title
We're on a rapid growth trajectory, which means the opportunities you create here scale with us. Your process improvements don't just benefit you - they benefit the entire Finance team. And as we grow, there's room to own bigger pieces of the puzzle.
A Culture That Actually Includes You
Inclusive culture isn't a talking point for us - it's something we actively build. We value diverse perspectives, we listen when you have ideas, and we make space for you to grow both professionally and personally.
Conexiom is an equal opportunity employer. We believe the best teams are built from diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. We don't just welcome difference - we actively seek it and celebrate it.
If you don't meet every qualification listed, apply anyway. We hire for skills, potential, and values - not just a checklist. Some of our best people didn't check every box when they started.
If you require accommodations at any point during the recruitment process, please let us know. We're here to make sure you can show up as your best self.
