Business Systems Analyst – AI-Enabled Banking
Location: Canada – Hybrid (2 Days Onsite)
Job Type: Contract
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to support banking technology initiatives, system integrations, and business process improvements. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into clear functional requirements and technical documentation.
The role involves working in a regulated banking environment, supporting requirements gathering, solution design, testing, and system delivery. Experience using approved AI tools to enhance business analysis, documentation, and requirements management is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, developers, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and validate business requirements.
- Prepare Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Document business processes, workflows, data flows, system interfaces, and integration requirements.
- Support solution design, system enhancements, and application integration initiatives.
- Coordinate and support functional testing, UAT, defect tracking, and issue resolution.
- Assist with production issue investigation and root cause analysis.
- Maintain requirements traceability and ensure alignment with change management and release processes.
- Leverage approved AI tools to assist with requirements analysis, documentation, summarization, and process improvement while following banking security and data privacy guidelines.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes, system functionality, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure deliverables align with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and project objectives.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience as a Business Systems Analyst or IT Business Analyst, preferably within banking or financial services.
- Strong experience in requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, and stakeholder management.
- Proficiency in preparing BRDs, FRDs, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Understanding of banking systems, application integrations, and system development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge of APIs, JSON, XML, and system integration concepts.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman is an asset.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management and documentation tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working on banking technology or financial services projects.
- Exposure to AI-powered tools for business analysis, documentation, and productivity.
- Understanding of data privacy, information security, and regulatory controls in banking environments.
- Experience supporting system implementation, enhancements, and integration projects.
