Data Modeler – KYC & Data Analysis
Location: Toronto, Canada
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler with strong SQL, data analysis, data modeling, and KYC domain knowledge. The ideal candidate will support data mapping, sanction screening, solution design, production issue analysis, and collaboration with business, development, and quality engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply strong knowledge of KYC (Know Your Customer) processes, sanction screening, and data security classification.
- Identify primary and alternate business scenarios and document requirements using established templates.
- Prepare detailed Data Mapping Specifications and coordinate stakeholder reviews and approvals.
- Understand current/interim and target-state architecture designs and facilitate solution design discussions.
- Perform hands-on data analysis and data mining using production data to validate business scenarios and identify data issues.
- Understand data models and relationships, develop complex SQL queries, and provide pseudocode to development and quality engineering teams.
- Review QE test cases and provide feedback to ensure adequate business scenario coverage and data validation.
- Investigate production defects and respond to business queries with detailed root cause analysis and timely resolutions.
- Prepare technical change requests and coordinate approvals with leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Work closely with business analysts, architects, developers, and QA teams to ensure accurate data mapping and implementation.
Required Skills
- Strong SQL skills and hands-on data analysis experience.
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, data structures, and data relationships.
- Good knowledge of KYC processes and sanction screening.
- Experience with data mapping, source-to-target mapping, and data validation.
- Understanding of data security classification and sensitive data handling.
- Knowledge of solution architecture, interim and target-state designs, and technical change management.
- Experience analyzing production data, troubleshooting defects, and performing root cause analysis.
- Strong communication, documentation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
