Software Engineer – Node.js & REST APIs
Position Type: Long Term Contract
Work Model: Hybrid
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and REST API development to build, enhance, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance backend applications. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of backend engineering, microservices, API security, and database integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Build, integrate, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance RESTful APIs.
- Implement asynchronous programming, error handling, and efficient backend processing.
- Develop and support microservices-based applications and system integrations.
- Implement API authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
- Perform API testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Integrate applications with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Write clean, reusable, maintainable code and automated unit and integration tests.
- Use Git for version control and collaborate through code reviews.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, production-ready solutions.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Proven experience designing and developing REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and backend development.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and API integration.
- Experience with API security, authentication, and authorization.
- Proficiency in API testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, Git, and automated testing.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated environments.
- Understanding of secure software development practices and production support.
- Experience working in Agile development teams.
