Position Overview

To support our continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced Director of Shoring to oversee and drive the performance of our shoring division, including field operations across complex infrastructure and construction projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience managing large-scale shoring and deep foundation projects, with a strong career foundation in Project Management and/or Field Superintendence. This individual will be responsible for operational leadership, project delivery, resource planning, financial performance, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and industry partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for shoring activities across major infrastructure projects, including MTO highways, LRT developments, transit expansions, and other provincial construction initiatives.
  • Support business growth through participation in project pursuits, tender reviews, estimating, bid preparation, and proposal development.
  • Lead field operations to ensure shoring installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and field leadership to establish realistic schedules, monitor project budgets, allocate resources, and resolve operational challenges.
  • Partner with engineering teams, general contractors, subcontractors, and clients to develop practical solutions for complex ground conditions and shoring requirements.
  • Champion workplace health and safety by ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, company policies, and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to Superintendents, Supervisors, and field personnel while promoting accountability, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Significant progressive experience within the shoring, deep foundations, geotechnical construction, or heavy civil infrastructure sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior Project Management, Superintendent, or operational leadership capacity overseeing complex shoring projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering multi-million-dollar construction projects while managing competing priorities, schedules, budgets, and operational requirements.
  • Strong people management and leadership capabilities, with experience directing multidisciplinary project teams and field operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of shoring systems, geotechnical construction methodologies, engineering drawings, and construction sequencing.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to operational planning, business development, and overall divisional profitability.

This is an opportunity for an established construction leader to take ownership of a growing shoring division, contribute to significant infrastructure projects, and play a key role in its long-term operational success.

We welcome a confidential introductory conversation with qualified professionals interested in exploring this opportunity.
