Senior Project Manager

Our client is a well-established specialty supplier to the commercial and institutional construction sector. They deliver specialized products and installed solutions for projects such as healthcare facilities, schools, government buildings and commercial developments.

They are looking for someone to lead the team in a satellite office in the Ottawa/Gatineau area.

The Opportunity

As Senior Project Manager, you will lead a small team as well as some assigned projects.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys developing people as much as delivering projects. You will work onsite from the Ottawa–Gatineau office and job sites.

Key Responsibilities

Team leadership

• Lead, coach and mentor a small team of project managers and estimators
• Assign projects and balance workloads across the team
• Set goals, conduct performance reviews and support professional development
• Participate in hiring, onboarding and building a strong team culture

Project delivery

• Manage a portfolio of commercial and institutional projects
• Oversee projects from contract award through submittals, procurement, installation and closeout
• Build and maintain project schedules, and coordinate with site supervisors and installation crews
• Ensure all work meets quality standards, building codes and health and safety requirements

Client and stakeholder relations

• Act as the senior point of contact for general contractors, consultants, architects and owners
• Attend site and coordination meetings, and resolve issues before they escalate
• Contribute to process improvement and best practices across the project management group

What You Bring

Required

• 5+ years of experience in a team lead, project management, or operations leadership role within the construction or engineering industry.
• Proven experience mentoring staff, managing hiring needs, and contributing to the growth of a department or branch's revenue and headcount.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Fully bilingual (Native/Fluent French, Fluent English) with strong written contract comprehension in both languages.

Base salary of $90,000 - 120,000 plus bonus
