Interested in joining one of Canada’s top-performing asset managers? We are looking for a Business Process Analyst, Process Automation for an existing vacancy within the Investment Resource Group (IRG). The Investment Resource Group is a diverse and dynamic team whose varied talents and experiences enable us to deliver accurate, timely, and efficient global investment operations while supporting the sustainable growth of CC&L Financial Group and its affiliates. As we continue to expand our automation capabilities, we are seeking an entrepreneurial and process-oriented individual who is passionate about process innovation and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Manager, Process Automation, the Business Process Analyst will play a central role in transforming the Investment Resource Group through automation by partnering with business subject-matter experts and technology teams to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, reduce operational risk, and deliver scalable and supportable solutions for manual, repetitive, and operationally intensive processes.

What You Will Do

Partner with business subject-matter experts across the Investment Resource Group to understand current-state processes and identify, assess, and prioritize automation and process-improvement opportunities.
Translate business objectives and operational challenges into clearly defined requirements, scope, solution approaches, and implementation plans, considering business value, feasibility, risk, dependencies, timelines, and resource requirements.
Analyze current-state processes, business rules, controls, data flows, and upstream and downstream dependencies; define the appropriate scope; and translate findings into improved and re-engineered future-state processes and user stories to support automation solution development.
Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, Microsoft Copilot, and Python, through hands-on development and/or in partnership with technical teams, depending on the candidate’s capabilities, experience, and technical skill set.
Collaborate with business users and technical teams throughout design, development, testing, and implementation, using presentations, documentation, and process diagrams as appropriate to maintain alignment and ensure solutions are robust, efficient, scalable, and aligned with business requirements.
Define and execute appropriate testing and validation approaches that cover both expected and non-standard scenarios, including exceptions, edge cases, reconciliations, controls, downstream impacts, and production readiness.
Document business requirements, process flows using process diagrams, solution designs, controls, testing outcomes, and implemented solutions in a structured and consistent manner.
Support existing and newly implemented automation solutions by investigating production issues, identifying root causes, and coordinating or implementing appropriate resolutions.
Champion the Automation Factory framework and ensure solutions are developed, tested, deployed, and supported in a controlled, sustainable, and well-governed manner.
Gather stakeholder feedback and identify opportunities to improve automation solutions, development practices, governance frameworks, and the overall user experience.
Educate business users on automation capabilities, appropriate use cases, and best practices to support adoption and help identify new opportunities.
Build strong relationships with business, Information Systems, Operational Risk, and other key stakeholders, and collaborate across global teams to promote standardized and scalable approaches to automation.

What You Bring

An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience within investment operations, trade support, or a comparable financial-services environment, with a strong understanding of operational processes, business logic, and control requirements.
Ability to quickly learn complex investment and operational processes, identify critical dependencies, risks, and gaps, and translate business needs into clear requirements and practical solutions.
Proven capability in requirements discovery, process analysis, process mapping, and future-state process design, with the confidence to challenge assumptions, think beyond existing processes, and navigate ambiguity.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to collect and analyze information, exercise sound judgement, define appropriate solution scope, and recommend solutions that enhance efficiency, controls, and decision-making.
Strong understanding of software-development methodologies and the end-to-end solution lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, implementation, production support, and change management.
Ability to define the appropriate solution scope, translate business requirements into reliable technical logic, and design scalable, maintainable, and well-controlled solutions, including recognizing when requirements are better addressed through broader technology capabilities or by other technology teams rather than through automation alone.
Strong testing, debugging, documentation, and production-support disciplines, with attention to exceptions, edge cases, controls, reliability, and long-term operational sustainability.
Understanding of workflow automation, APIs, structured data, and data architecture, including data ingestion, transformation, modelling, and reporting, is considered a strong asset.
Hands-on development experience with technologies such as Python, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Power Platform, Excel, Power Query, and VBA is considered a strong asset.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and functions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues concisely, synthesize detailed information into clear discussion and decision points, and support communication through effective presentations and visual materials where appropriate.
A proactive, self-starting, and results-oriented approach, with the initiative to identify and address gaps, remove obstacles, and drive work forward independently in fast-paced, evolving environments that require a high degree of autonomy and sound judgment.
A flexible and adaptable mindset, with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders, navigate differing perspectives and priorities, build alignment, and drive execution through a range of approaches with persistence, resourcefulness, and resilience.
A strong growth mindset, with curiosity, openness to new ideas and approaches, and a demonstrated commitment to continuously developing business, investment-process, automation, and technology capabilities.

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$105,000. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation for this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
