Role Description This part-time Building Design Professional Engineer or Project Lead role is an on-site position located in White Rock, BC, starting at $60 per hour. The professional will support building design projects, including reviewing architectural plans, performing structural evaluations, and preparing engineering documentation and calculations. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with internal and external project stakeholders, ensuring designs comply with applicable building codes and standards, and providing technical guidance during planning and construction phases. The role also involves overseeing portions of the project schedule and deliverables, identifying design risks or constructability issues, and recommending practical solutions. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining high quality and safety standards while working collaboratively with the project team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in building design and structural engineering, including preparation and review of drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency with common engineering and design tools (e.g., CAD or BIM software, structural analysis programs) and ability to interpret architectural and construction documents.
• Strong project coordination skills, including organizing tasks, tracking deliverables, and communicating clearly with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Thorough understanding of relevant building codes, standards, and permitting requirements applicable to building design and construction.
• Professional Engineering (P.Eng. or equivalent) license or eligibility is strongly preferred; experience as a project lead or senior engineer is an asset.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills, with attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to work on-site in various cities carry structural and civil design lead or EOR's roles IN BC on a part-time schedule and collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline; relevant construction or field experience is beneficial.
