A little about the role
We’re looking for a Finance Manager who loves when things balance, deadlines are met, and everyone has the information they need.
You’ll be at the heart of our day-to-day finance operations in Toronto, owning client billing, accounts receivable and accounts payable, reconciliations, cash flow reporting, and month-end activities. You’ll work closely with our Client Partnership, Operations, and Project Management teams to make sure projects and billing stay accurate and on track.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll definitely spend time in spreadsheets and accounting systems, but you’ll also spend a lot of time working with people across the business to solve problems, update procedures, answer questions, and keep things moving.
What does success look like?
Client invoices go out accurately and on time, reconciliations tie out, month-end deadlines are met, reporting is reliable, cash comes in and there are very few finance-related surprises.
You’ll report to the Head of Finance making this a great role for someone who likes owning their work while also helping others succeed.
This Role Reports to:
Head of Finance
Compensation Range:
80,000–90,000 CAD
What you’ll be doing
Billing, revenue & client finance
- Own monthly client billing, revenue recognition and accounts receivables.
- Reconcile and track prebills and accrued revenue
- Partner with the Client Partnership team to make sure billing is accurate and moves quickly through approval processes.
- Follow up directly with client finance/AP teams when needed.
- Monitor revenue forecast and reconcile forecasts to actual client billing.
- Keep client finance information such as billing details, POs and contact information accurate and up to date.
- Investigate billing discrepancies and help get them sorted out.
Month-end, accounting & cash flow
- Manage accounts payable and make sure vendors are paid accurately and on time.
- Complete monthly accounting responsibilities and help keep our close on schedule.
- Prepare and distribute weekly cash flow reporting, including a rolling view of expected cash coming in and going out.
- Review bank and credit card activity, monitor balances, and reconcile the bank weekly
- Prepare and submit HST filings and corporate tax instalments, including arranging HST payments.
- File the Employer Health Tax (EHT) return.
- Review payroll reports and benefits invoices to post necessary journal entries.
- Review employee expenses, receipts and approvals, code expenses appropriately, and arrange reimbursements.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
Projects & Process
- Help make sure the financial side of our projects reflects what is actually happening in the business.
- Provide internal finance process onboarding and training for new employees involved in billing.
- Look at process improvement and change as a rewarding challenge and are willing to work with others to smooth out friction points along the way.
People, year-end & everything in between
- Support the Billing Coordinator as needed, including reviewing sales orders, and providing support when processes change and new initiatives are rolling out.
- Help with year-end close by preparing schedules, documentation, and supporting information for internal and external requests.
- Assist with year-end audit requests.
- Jump in on ad hoc financial requests and projects as they come up.
What you’ll bring
We’re less interested in someone who checks every single box and more interested in someone who knows their stuff, takes ownership, and genuinely enjoys making finance processes work well for everyone it touches.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Around 7–9 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including hands-on client billing and reconciliations in a project or media focused environment.
- Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP accounting system.
- Experience working with time-tracking and project management systems.
- Strong Excel/Microsoft Office and Google Workspace skills.
- A serious appreciation for accuracy and details. You’re the person who notices when something doesn’t quite add up and is willing to figure out why.
- Strong organization and time-management skills, particularly when several month-end deadlines arrive at once.
- The ability to communicate finance information clearly to people who don’t live and breathe finance.
- A collaborative approach. You’re comfortable working with Project Managers, Client Partners, Operations, and other teams across the business.
- Good judgment and the confidence to investigate something when the numbers don’t look right.
Work Environment
We have a hybrid environment, and this position will be a mix of in-office and remote work.
Benefits
You'll be enrolled in our benefits plan, which includes:
- Extended health and dental coverage
- Health spending account
- Short- and long-term disability coverage
- 4% GRSP match

What we offer:
- Flexible hybrid work arrangements
- Annual company shutdown over the holiday season
- Regular studio-wide social events
- Budget and dedicated time for professional development
- A commitment to wellbeing and work-life balance
You’ll probably love this role if...
You’re someone who gets a little satisfaction when a reconciliation ties out perfectly, but you also genuinely enjoy working with people. You like having ownership of your work, you’re comfortable asking questions when something doesn’t make sense, and you’re good at keeping a lot of moving pieces organized without losing the details.
You’re naturally curious and always looking for ways to make a process a little better or easier for everyone. Most importantly, you’re dependable, approachable, and happy to jump in when the team needs you.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Some of our best ideas emerge when different perspectives collide. That's just one of the reasons we're committed to building and retaining a team that reflects diverse backgrounds, identities, experiences, and abilities. Through our core values, we foster a culture where everyone feels heard, included, and comfortable being themselves.
