Original job description

What We Offer

At Convverge, we build business-critical solutions using Microsoft technologies including Power Platform, Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SharePoint, and Microsoft’s AI and Copilot ecosystem. We help organizations modernize business processes, unlock insights from their data, and create secure, responsible AI-enabled experiences for employees and customers.

In our Junior Developer Co-op program, you'll gain hands-on experience across two of our fastest-growing practices. This unique 12-month opportunity provides six months of experience with our Software Development team and six months with our Data & Analytics team, giving you exposure to both application development and modern data platforms. You'll work alongside experienced developers, architects, consultants, and analysts while contributing to real client projects that make a measurable impact.

About Our Team

We're a close-knit, high-trust team that moves fast and counts on each other to deliver. We're passionate problem solvers who lead with quality, not just in what we build, but in how we work together and with our clients.

We believe small, empowered teams do their best work when they're trusted to own outcomes. That means less bureaucracy, more accountability, and the kind of environment where your contributions are visible and your growth is real.

We value diverse backgrounds and experiences, because the best solutions come from teams that don't all think the same way.

About the Role

This is more than a traditional software development co-op. During your placement, you'll spend time working with both our Software Development and Data & Analytics teams and contribute directly to active client engagements. You'll help build business applications, automate processes, develop analytics solutions, and explore how Microsoft Copilot, AI agents, and generative AI capabilities can be applied to real business needs using modern Microsoft cloud technologies.

By the end of the program, you'll have gained experience across both application development and data-driven solution delivery, providing a strong foundation for a career in technology consulting and software development.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the development, testing, deployment, and support of client solutions using Microsoft technologies.
Build and enhance Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and related Power Platform solutions.
Develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI.
Support data preparation, transformation, integration, and modeling activities.
Assist in the development of data pipelines and analytics solutions using modern Microsoft data platforms.
Support the design, prototyping, testing, and integration of AI-enabled solutions using tools such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, Azure AI services, and Microsoft 365 Copilot extensibility.
Help evaluate AI use cases, connect solutions to approved data and business systems, and document agent purpose, boundaries, expected outcomes, and human oversight requirements.
Apply responsible AI, privacy, security, testing, monitoring, and governance practices throughout the solution lifecycle.
Participate in requirements gathering, solution design discussions, and project planning sessions.
Troubleshoot technical issues and support ongoing solution enhancements.
Create and maintain technical, operational, and user documentation.
Collaborate with developers, analysts, architects, consultants, and project teams to deliver client outcomes.
Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and quality assurance practices.
Stay current with Microsoft technologies and contribute to continuous learning initiatives.

What You'll Learn

During your co-op, you'll gain practical experience in:

Application Development
- Power Platform solutions and fusion development using pro-code and low-code components
- TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and modern web application development
- Dataverse, Power Platform APIs, connectors, and integration patterns
- Power Platform CLI, developer tooling, reusable components, and solution architecture
- Code reviews and collaborative development practices
- Automated testing, application lifecycle management, CI/CD, deployment, and support
Data & Analytics
- Power BI
- Microsoft Fabric
- Data modeling
- Data transformation and integration
- Reporting and dashboard development
- Business intelligence best practices
AI, Copilot & Agents
- Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio fundamentals
- AI agent concepts, orchestration, knowledge grounding, and tool integration
- Microsoft Foundry and Azure AI services
- Prompt design, evaluation, testing, and monitoring
- Responsible AI, security, privacy, transparency, and human oversight
Consulting & Professional Skills
- Client engagement
- Requirements gathering
- Problem solving
- Agile delivery approaches
- Technical communication
- Working within cross-functional project teams

Qualifications and Experience

Required
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Basic programming knowledge through academic coursework, personal projects, or previous experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated curiosity and passion for technology.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, Python, Java, or SQL.
- Exposure to databases, reporting tools, or data analytics concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft technologies, Power Platform, Azure, Power BI, or SharePoint.
- Exposure to generative AI, Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, Azure AI services, AI agents, or responsible AI concepts.
