We are currently seeking experienced Project Planners to join our dynamic award-winning team. The successful candidates will have solid planning experience across construction and infrastructure projects. You will support the development and maintenance of project schedules, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to robust project controls delivery. Our team is multi-disciplinary, so a wide range of experience and/or willingness to learn is crucial.

About us: CMR is an award-winning project controls consultancy that is first and foremost a team of people, passionate about the construction industry and changing the way project controls is provided. Our approach and culture have been recognised globally, with CMR named Global Project Controls Small Business of the Year 2025 (Project Controls Expo UK Awards) and one of the UK’s Best Workplaces in 2026 (Great Place to Work).

Building on our strong UK foundations, we’re expanding into new markets and looking for driven project controls professionals who want to play a key role in our next stage of growth. Together, we will raise the bar for project controls delivery across the globe.

Our Purpose (Why we exist): Inspiring new ways to help shape our construction industry.

Our Ambition (What we want to achieve): Re-imagine project controls through a digital lens, being the obvious choice for clients and the place to grow together with intention.

🔹 What’s in it for you?

At CMR you will have the opportunity to professionally develop like nowhere you have worked before.

A culture built on equality and inclusion - central to our identity, essential to our success.

We use our in-house capability matrix to clearly track your progression and identify development areas, working alongside your line manager and mentors to support your growth.

If you demonstrate the capability, our merit based system will enable you to develop fast.

Join our small, dynamic team where every member has the chance to make a significant impact, shaping the future direction of our company and making a real difference.

The opportunity to join our burgeoning team and contribute to our expansion into new markets.

We believe in rewarding our team for their achievements, celebrating our successes but equally helping each other when things are tough.

🔹 You'll

Develop and maintain project schedules with clear milestones, coordinating work sequences with the total project plan.

Perform schedule monitoring, identify critical activities, and assist in updating and reporting on schedule progress.

Support the development of schedule estimates for construction works, ensuring they are robust, realistic, and practicable.

Help define the Basis of Schedule, including key assumptions, exclusions, constraints, and dependencies.

Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure buy-in to the project schedule.

Support planning processes, procedures, and governance, contributing to high standards and consistency across the project.

Collaborate with Cost, Risk, and wider project teams to ensure alignment of assumptions and fully integrated planning.

Support the identification of interface risks and contribute to QSRA processes alongside the Risk team.

Assist in validating schedule estimates using benchmark data and design information (including BIM where applicable).

Prepare, analyse, and interpret project performance data to enable informed and timely decision-making.

🔹 About You

Essential

Demonstrable experience in a planning or project controls role on construction or infrastructure projects.

Proficient in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.

Knowledge and experience of construction elements (e.g. Civils, M&E, etc.).

Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to analyse and present information clearly and persuasively.

Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Comfortable contributing to workshops and discussions to help identify issues and develop solutions.

Able to collaborate well with clients, partners, and wider project teams.

Desirable

Experience working on major construction and infrastructure projects.

Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g. nuclear, utilities, defence).

Qualified to degree level; formal project management qualifications such as PMI, AACE, APM or PRINCE2 would be advantageous.

Knowledge of procurement processes and forms of contract.

Membership of a professional body (AACE, PMI, or APM) or working towards professional qualifications.

🔹 At CMR we have a strong culture driven by our 9 Core Principles. We look to build a community of people that have the same beliefs as we do! You can find out more about us here: https://cmr.london/who-we-are/
