Original job description

Leave Routine Compliance Behind.

We work with some of Canada's most innovative businesses, helping them access SR&ED tax incentives and innovation funding that accelerate growth. Our clients are developing new technologies, improving products, solving complex engineering challenges, and creating the future of their industries.

As a Senior Tax Advisor, you'll become a trusted advisor to these businesses. You'll work directly with owners, executives, finance leaders, and the rest of the Copoint team to help them maximize opportunities, navigate the CRA process, and make informed strategic decisions.

In This Role You Will

Engage with key individuals at all levels within our diverse client base, including CEOs, CFOs, tax personnel, engineers, and technology personnel.
Own and manage a portfolio of clients.
Lead client meetings and strategic discussions.
Coordinate service delivery with other client leads and technical counterparts.
Prepare and review SR&ED claims and supporting documentation.
Navigate CRA reviews, audits, and information requests.
Collaborate with external accounting firms and advisors.
Support strategic decisions by means of sound business analysis.
Research emerging tax issues and policy developments.
Support new client opportunities and referral relationships through meetings, conferences, networking events.
Help shape the future growth of Copoint.

We're Looking For Someone Who

Has experience in public or private practice, including direct client interaction and responsibility for managing client files.
Has 3-5 years of Canadian corporate tax experience.
Holds a CPA designation (or equivalent experience).
Enjoys building relationships and becoming a trusted advisor.
Communicates confidently with executives and business owners.
Is curious, analytical, and eager to continuously learn.
Thrives in a team-oriented environment.
Wants to have a direct impact on client success.

Why People Choose Copoint

We're intentionally different from larger accounting firms. We prioritize collaboration over hierarchy, quality over bureaucracy, and sustainable success over burnout.

Our team works hard, supports each other, and takes pride in delivering exceptional results. We believe talented professionals do their best work when they're trusted, supported, and given room to grow.

What We Offer

Competitive compensation
Annual performance bonus
Business development incentive opportunities
Comprehensive benefits program
Vacation and flex days
Hybrid work flexibility
Professional development support
A team that genuinely enjoys working together

Build Something Meaningful

If you're an experienced tax professional looking for engaging client work, strong career growth, and a culture that values both performance and people, we'd like to hear from you.

Please submit your cover letter and resume with "Senior Tax Advisor – [YOUR NAME]" in the subject line to careers@copoint.ca. In your email, tell us about your articling experience or early experience and how it influenced your career path.

We thank all interested applicants; however, only those under consideration will be contacted.
