Our iconic establishments - Hôtel Nelligan, recognized as the best urban hotel in Canada by the prestigious Travel & Leisure Best Awards, and Hôtel Place d’Armes, recently awarded a Michelin Key and a Travel & Leisure award - embody our values: thinking collectively, Being passionate, Taking charge, Aim for Excellence. Join our team and help create tailor-made moments for our guests.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director, Technology and Business Systems plays a strategic role in advancing Corner Collection’s technology environment.

This individual ensures the reliability, security and performance of the systems that support our hotels, restaurants and corporate functions. Working closely with property leadership, corporate teams and external partners, the Director establishes technology priorities, leads projects from initial design through implementation and adoption, optimizes business processes and ensures high-quality day-to-day support, while contributing to operational efficiency and the organization’s continued evolution.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

STRATEGY AND LEADERSHIP

  • Define the technology roadmap. Establish an annual plan and multi-year priorities; recommend which solutions to retain, integrate, simplify, automate or replace based on their value, costs and risks.
  • Lead and mobilize resources. Coach and develop the internal resource dedicated to systems, coordinate specialized partners and empower key users, while avoiding unnecessary proliferation of tools and service providers.
  • Act as a business partner to operations. Collaborate with General Managers and the Finance, Talent & Culture, Commercial and Marketing teams to prioritize needs, clarify responsibilities and support organizational change.

TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE AND OPERATIONS

  • Oversee IT infrastructure. Lead the design, implementation, operation and evolution of cloud environments, on-premises servers, networks, telecommunications and IT equipment in collaboration with specialized partners.
  • Ensure performance and scalability. Establish infrastructure availability, capacity and performance standards to support Corner Collection’s multi-site operations, teams and growth.
  • Establish policies and standards. Define, document and enforce IT policies, procedures and standards, particularly regarding configurations, equipment, changes and technical documentation.

IT SERVICE MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS SYSTEMS

  • Structure IT service management. Oversee support requests, incidents, changes and recurring issues; define service levels, escalation procedures, responsibilities and coverage aligned with operating hours, while clearly allocating responsibilities between internal resources and external partners.
  • Govern business applications and integrations. Oversee business systems, their configurations and integrations; ensure issues are tracked through to resolution and maintain reliable documentation.

DATA GOVERNANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT

  • Strengthen data reliability. Map critical data flows, establish authoritative sources and define responsibilities with department leaders, secure interfaces and reduce errors, inconsistencies and duplicate data entry. Department leaders remain accountable for the quality of data within their respective areas.
  • Manage technology risks. Identify, assess and prioritize risks related to systems, vendors, access and data; maintain a risk register, document mitigation measures and corrective action plans, and report on progress to senior leadership.
  • Protect information and systems. Oversee identity and access management, privileged access, vulnerabilities and technical controls related to sensitive information and payment systems, in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure business continuity. Ensure backups, disaster recovery plans and incident response procedures are maintained and tested. Document critical systems, dependencies and contingency procedures to minimize operational disruptions.

PROJECTS AND TRANSFORMATION

  • Deliver technology projects. Lead implementations, migrations and integrations, as well as technology requirements related to renovations, new openings and acquisitions, from initial requirements through testing, training and transition to ongoing support.
  • Take ownership of delivery outcomes. Remain accountable for technical functionality, even when execution is delegated to a vendor; establish acceptance criteria with stakeholders and measure actual adoption.
  • Coordinate building technologies. Oversee networks, Wi-Fi, telephony, TV platforms and digital connectivity, working in coordination with the Buildings and Infrastructure team on installations and on-site interventions.
  • Simplify processes and drive adoption. Work with teams to eliminate pain points, reduce manual tasks and implement relevant automation and artificial intelligence solutions, with measurable results.

BUDGETS AND PARTNERSHIPS

  • Manage investments and vendors. Prepare budgets, monitor licenses, contracts and service costs, evaluate partner performance and recommend investments with measurable, verifiable benefits.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience. A proven track record in technology and business systems, ideally with approximately 10 years of experience or an equivalent combination of experience, including accountability for project delivery and operations in a multi-site environment. Demonstrated experience in vendor management and leading technology projects.
  • Technical expertise. A strong understanding of cloud and on-premises infrastructure, networks, SaaS applications, integrations, data, cybersecurity, IT service management and business continuity, along with the ability to engage and coordinate the right specialists.
  • Leadership and business acumen. The ability to align teams and vendors, make pragmatic decisions and lead change through to successful adoption.
  • Assets. Experience in hospitality, food service, retail or another service-oriented industry. Familiarity with property management systems (PMS), point-of-sale systems (POS), CRM platforms, payment systems, automation or artificial intelligence is an asset.
  • Languages. Bilingual proficiency in French and English, including a strong understanding of technical English, to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external technology partners.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

  • The unique opportunity to work with one of Montreal’s most renowned hospitality groups, recognized both locally and internationally.
  • A stylish, upscale work environment just steps away from a metro station in the heart of Old Montreal.
  • A competitive compensation package, complemented by an incentive program designed to recognize performance and achievement of objectives.
  • A group RRSP with employer contributions, as well as comprehensive group insurance.
  • A workplace that encourages a healthy work-life balance.
  • Discounted meals at our establishments.
  • Numerous opportunities for career advancement and professional growth. As we continue to expand, we want passionate and driven individuals to grow with us.
  • Access to an employee recognition program, festive events, and team-building activities.
