About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing, integrated engineering and technical services company serving the Construction Industry across Western Canada. As the business scales, they're looking for a business-minded operator to own client relationships, growth strategy, and the project economics behind a talented technical practice.

This is a role for someone energized by client relationships, account management, and the numbers behind how a project makes money, not by the technical work itself. You'll work alongside a team of technical experts, but the client, the funnel, and the P&L are yours to run.

Responsibilities

Own the client relationship end to end, from first conversation through project delivery to the next opportunity
Manage the client services funnel: farming existing accounts for repeat and expanded work, hands-on account management, and long-term customer success
Lead the business operations side of project delivery: Support engineering in creating proposals; Oversee scheduling and client coordination; Manage contracts and invoicing across active projects; Coordinate resourcing across concurrent projects to keep delivery on track
Track project-level profitability, watching billing rates and margin project by project
Build and execute a growth plan with clear targets across one-, three-, and five-year horizons
Track proposal win/loss data and use it to sharpen how the team pursues and wins new work
Build lasting relationships with architecture, development, and general contracting firms whose projects already require these services, so this becomes their natural first call rather than a competitor's
Coordinate with related technical service lines to bring integrated offerings to shared clients

Requirements

A background in engineering, architecture, construction project management, or technical services operations.
An engineering degree is a strong asset
A track record of owning client accounts end to end, not just servicing what lands on your desk
A genuine appetite for account management and customer success. You should enjoy managing relationships as much as managing project economics
Comfort with project-level financial tracking: billing rates, margin, and profitability, even if you've never owned a departmental budget
Experience from construction, general contracting, environmental or materials testing services, or a related technical field is a strong fit
Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Lower Mainland

What Success Looks Like

Healthy project-level margins across every account, a growing book of client relationships through both farming and new business, and a client base that sees you, not the technical team, as their first call.
