The role involves preparing technical reports, drawings, and specifications; reviewing field survey data; and interpreting results to recommend practical engineering measures. This position will collaborate with project managers, field technicians, and clients to plan and execute projects, ensure regulatory and industry standards are met, and support quality assurance across project deliverables. Additional tasks may include mentoring junior staff, participating in site visits and inspections, and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering practices and tools.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation in a relevant discipline (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials) or eligibility for registration in Alberta.
  • Demonstrated experience in corrosion engineering, cathodic protection design, AC interference analysis, or pipeline integrity in the energy sector.
  • Proficiency with engineering calculations, industry standards, and applicable codes related to pipelines and corrosion control.
  • Strong skills in technical writing, report preparation, and documentation for engineering projects.
  • Ability to interpret field data, perform site assessments, and collaborate effectively with field crews and project stakeholders.
  • Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfort with relevant engineering and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, CAD tools, and specialized corrosion or pipeline analysis software).
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to field sites in Western Canada as required.
  • Previous experience in Western Canadian energy infrastructure or pipeline projects is an asset.
