About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Programming, the Programming Coordinator provides operational and administrative support across content scheduling, planning, inventory management, regulatory reporting, and content operations.
This role plays an important part in supporting the day-to-day execution of programming activities across Corus' portfolio of channels and digital platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with Programming Managers, Program Schedulers, Acquisitions, Sales and other internal stakeholders to ensure programming information, schedules, inventories, and reports are maintained accurately and efficiently.
You will contribute by:
- Support the planning and scheduling activities across a portfolio of channels.
- Assist with monthly movie planning, scheduling preparation, and inventory management.
- Prepare and process program transfer forms and schedule adjustment requests.
- Support Program Schedulers with weekly listings, PROL updates, and other scheduling activities as required.
- Assist with special scheduling initiatives, stunts, marathons, and seasonal programming events.
- Maintain programming inventories and monitor content availability.
- Track content commitments and output deals in partnership with the Manager.
- Circulate output deal information and programming updates to internal stakeholders.
- Conduct inventory analysis and reporting to support programming decisions.
- Assist with on-demand content tracking and availability management.
- Coordinate monthly CRTC reporting requirements.
- Prepare and distribute ratings reports and audience performance packages.
- Maintain programming documentation, records, and internal reporting materials.
- Maintain the master viewer advisory list.
- Coordinate updates with Programming, Traffic, and Scheduling teams to ensure advisories remain accurate and current.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and planning materials as required.
- Support special projects and departmental initiatives.
- Assist the Programming team with ad hoc operational tasks as required.
Skills and experience you will bring:
- Post-secondary education in Broadcasting, Communications, Media Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in broadcasting, media, content operations, scheduling, or a related environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with scheduling, broadcast, or content management systems is an asset.
- Familiarity with television scheduling, programming operations, or digital media environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of CRTC regulations and reporting requirements is considered an asset.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
