THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director, Capital Planning & Governance, the Manager, Capital Portfolio & Governance plays a key role in improving how capital is allocated, monitored, and redeployed across the enterprise.
The Manager provides portfolio insights, investment analysis, and clear recommendations to support senior leadership and the Investment Board. Working across functions such as Technology, Digital, Real Estate, Operations, and Finance, this role connects strategic priorities, financial returns, and execution capacity to help the organization direct capital toward the highest-value opportunities.
This is a highly visible role for a finance professional who combines strong analytical skills with sound business judgment, executive-level communication, and the ability to lead complex cross-functional processes.
What You’ll Do

- Lead the preparation and coordination of the Investment Board process, including agendas, executive materials, decision framing, meeting follow-ups, and tracking of conditions and commitments.
- Own consolidated analysis for the enterprise capital portfolio, providing clear visibility into deployment, financial returns, execution readiness, risks, and emerging opportunities.
- Develop portfolio reviews and recommendations that support capital allocation, prioritization, and reallocation decisions across business functions and investment categories.
- Perform ROCE, return, value creation, scenario, and sensitivity analyses to evaluate portfolio performance and strengthen investment decisions.
- Assess capital requests and business cases by reviewing financial assumptions, strategic alignment, implementation plans, and expected benefits; identify issues requiring further challenge or clarification.
- Partner with Finance and business leaders to identify opportunities to redeploy uncommitted or underutilized capital toward higher-priority initiatives.
- Translate complex financial and operational information into concise executive presentations, decision papers, and practical recommendations for senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement in capital planning, investment review, portfolio reporting, and decision-support processes through standardization, automation, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled tools.
- Build effective relationships across a global, cross-functional stakeholder network and provide guidance on capital portfolio requirements, analyses, and decision processes.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A recognized professional designation or relevant graduate degree is considered an asset.
Experience:
- 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, capital planning, investment analysis, strategic planning, consulting, portfolio management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing a complex process, program, or cross-functional initiative. Prior people-management experience is not required.
- Experience developing executive-level analyses and presentations and supporting senior leadership decision-making.
- Experience evaluating business cases, investment proposals, capital programs, or portfolio performance is strongly preferred.
Knowledge and skills:
- Strong financial, analytical, and quantitative capabilities, with the ability to connect detailed analysis to strategic and operational implications.
- Sound business judgment and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively, identify trade-offs, and recommend a clear path forward.
- Ability to synthesize complex and sometimes incomplete information into concise, decision-ready insights for senior leaders.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with Power BI, data visualization, automation, or AI-enabled tools is considered an asset
Language skills:
- Bilingualism required (Advanced French and English) both spoken and written, as the person will be required to work and communicate regularly in English while performing the tasks outlined above. Specifically, the role requires collaboration with global teams.
