The Opportunity

The IT Lead provides hands on support for technology initiatives across COVE, with a focus on implementing new software, improving business systems, supporting adoption, and coordinating the work of the organization’s managed service provider. The role also provides leadership in identifying technology improvement opportunities, supporting technology planning, and promoting effective, secure, and efficient use of organizational technology resources. Success in this role involves delivering technology initiatives in a coordinated, timely, and well communicated manner while ensuring solutions are practical, secure, well documented, and aligned with organizational priorities.

What You'll Do:

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the IT Lead is responsible for coordinating the organization’s day-to-day technology operations, technology planning and governance, vendor and managed service provider oversight, cybersecurity coordination, systems access, software lifecycle management, and technology related risk escalation. This role is accountable for executing IT priorities, documentation, follow-up, and coordination to ensure technology services and initiatives are managed effectively and enhance the user experience across the organization.

Serve as the primary internal lead for technology operations, working with staff, leadership, vendors, and service providers to resolve technology issues and support business needs.
Administer SharePoint and Microsoft 365 platforms, including site management, permissions, content organization, governance, workflow automation, and user support.
Lead technology initiatives, including system implementations, upgrades, integrations, process improvements, automation, and digital transformation projects.
Manage relationships with service providers, vendors, and consultants, monitoring performance, resolving issues, and ensuring contractual obligations are met.
Support cybersecurity, privacy, data governance, access management, risk management, incident response, and compliance activities.
Evaluate systems and business processes to improve efficiency, reporting, data quality, user experience, and automation opportunities.
Maintain technology documentation, including systems, processes, licences, inventories, technology assets, and support procedures.
Track and report on technology performance, project progress, system usage, service issues, and improvement initiatives.
Support business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery programs through planning, testing, documentation, and coordination activities.
Provide user guidance, training, and change management support to encourage effective adoption of technology solutions and processes.
Promote secure, reliable, and compliant technology practices and adherence to organizational policies, standards, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with COVE policies and procedures, including human resources, safety, information management, cybersecurity, privacy, and operational requirements.
Perform other related duties as required to support COVE's operations, programs, and strategic objectives.

What You Bring:

Post-secondary education in information technology, computer science, business systems, project management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in information technology, business systems, technology coordination, project coordination, technology operations, or a similar role.
Experience supporting software implementations, system upgrades, integrations, process improvements, or digital transformation initiatives.
Experience working with managed service providers, software vendors, consultants, and technical support partners.
Understanding of network environments and infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, cloud-based applications, cybersecurity fundamentals, access management, and data protection practices.
Experience gathering business requirements, documenting workflows, identifying gaps, and translating business needs into technology solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and communicate effectively with non-technical users.
Microsoft, cybersecurity, or other relevant certifications are considered an asset.
Experience with SharePoint Online administration, including permissions, site architecture, document libraries, metadata, content management, and workflow automation tools such as Power Automate.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Ability to translate business needs into practical technology requirements and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Strong project coordination, vendor management, stakeholder engagement, documentation, prioritization, and technology planning skills.

Additional Assets:

Microsoft, cybersecurity, project management, or related certifications.
Experience with IT governance, technology risk management, policies, or compliance practices.
Experience with CRM, ERP, SharePoint, Power Automate, Power BI, or other business systems.
Experience supporting digital transformation, workflow automation, technology adoption, or change management.
