Original job description

Your Opportunity:

Are you looking for a place where people truly matter? At Covenant Health, we are committed to providing compassionate care while fostering a supportive environment where our staff can grow and make a meaningful difference. The Grey Nuns Community Hospital serves southeast Edmonton and the surrounding community with a broad range of healthcare services, including Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care. If you are passionate about caring for the smallest and most vulnerable patients, you will find purpose here. Our team provides specialized, family-centered care to premature and critically ill newborns, supporting both the medical and developmental needs of infants while partnering closely with their families. We work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to provide advanced monitoring, respiratory support, feeding and lactation support, and compassionate guidance throughout each family’s NICU journey. We are looking for people who demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, thrive in collaborative environments and are committed to supporting families during a complex and emotional time. Join Covenant Health today and help make a meaningful difference in promoting the health and wellbeing of newborns, supporting families through challenging moments and living out Covenant Health’s core values every day!

Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) participates in nursing assessments and interventions, care planning, implementing prescribed treatments, administering medications, evaluating treatments, and monitoring/documenting treatment progress and patient/resident response. Acting as an advocate, coordinator and liaison for the patient/resident, the RN identifies needs and sets priorities in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. The RN facilitates patient/resident and family education and discharge planning, and may be required to act in a charge nurse capacity. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the UNA Collective Agreement.
