Overview: This is an opportunity to help advance Covenant House Toronto's ambitious redevelopment campaign. As Covenant House Toronto prepares for the largest capital campaign in our history, the Development Associate, Campaign will help coordinate the people, materials and follow-up needed to support Campaign Cabinet members, fundraising volunteers, donors and campaign staff.
Working closely with the Vice President, Campaign, the Senior Manager, Campaign Operations and frontline fundraisers, the Development Associate will coordinate campaign activity, maintain prospect and volunteer information, support donor engagement and stewardship, and prepare the materials and documentation needed to advance fundraising relationships.
Through this work, the Development Associate will help inspire the philanthropic support needed to ensure young people at risk of and experiencing homelessness have the opportunity to heal, grow and build stable futures.
We are currently recruiting for 1 Full Time, Permanent Development Associate, Campaigns. This is a new role within the organization
Responsibilities:
Campaign Cabinet & Volunteer Engagement (30%)
- Coordinate Campaign Cabinet and campaign committee meetings, including scheduling, agendas, briefing packages, presentations, minutes and follow-up.
- Serve as a day-to-day contact for Campaign Cabinet members and fundraising volunteers.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding and orientation of campaign volunteers, and help maintain their ongoing engagement.
- Prepare volunteers for donor meetings and outreach, coordinate related activities, and track follow-up actions using established campaign systems.
Fundraising & Donor Development Support (30%)
- Provide administrative and organizational support to the Vice President, Campaign.
- Support relationship managers and the Senior Manager, Campaign Operations in coordinating donor and volunteer engagement activities.
- Assemble approved donor-facing materials, including briefing notes, donor profiles, proposals, correspondence, presentations and follow-up communications.
- Coordinate donor meetings, site visits, tours and engagement activities, including preparing materials and ensuring timely follow-up.
- Document donor and volunteer meetings and maintain accurate records of engagement activities.
Prospect Pipeline & Campaign Reporting (20%)
- Maintain accurate and complete campaign prospect and fundraising data in the donor database.
- Support prospect review and moves-management meetings.
- Prepare and distribute routine pipeline and activity reports for campaign leadership, volunteers and fundraising staff.
- Maintain campaign trackers, action logs, meeting records, reporting schedules, shared files and other documentation required to support campaign operations.
Campaign Communications, Stewardship & Events (15%)
- Support campaign stewardship, including naming and recognition tracking, donor recognition activities, reporting, presentations, briefing materials and follow-up to ensure stewardship commitments are completed.
- Support donor cultivation and stewardship activities, including tours, receptions, briefings, donor meetings, volunteer gatherings, and recognition opportunities.
- Represent Covenant House Toronto at donor meetings, campaign events, and volunteer activities, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Cross-Organizational Coordination & Team Contribution (5%)
- Serve as a responsive and professional point of contact for donors, volunteers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring inquiries and requests are addressed or directed appropriately.
- Coordinate information and contributions from internal teams for campaign materials, meetings, and activities.
- Contribute to campaign priorities by coordinating assigned activities and deliverables.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 4-8 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, campaign support, project coordination, volunteer management or a related field.
- Experience supporting major gift fundraising, a capital campaign, donor engagement, a board, committee or volunteer group is an asset.
- Exceptional organizational, project coordination and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, records and follow-up activities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing correspondence, briefing materials, presentations and reports.
- Experience using donor databases, CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications, with a strong commitment to accurate and complete data.
- Professional and trustworthy, with the ability to handle confidential donor and volunteer information.
- Strong client service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with donors, volunteers, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Highly collaborative, proactive and solutions-oriented, with sound judgement and a professional approach to confidential information.
