Original job description

CPA Ontario is not like other organizations
We operate at a rare intersection, both regulator and membership body, responsible for upholding the integrity of the CPA designation while supporting more than 105,000 members and 19,000 students across the province. Our work sits between business and the public interest, between the evolving demands of industry and the standards that make trust possible.

Careers built here tend to look different because the work itself is different. You are not simply contributing to an organization. You are helping shape a profession that touches nearly every sector of the economy at a moment when expectations, technology, and the nature of work are all being rewritten.

About This Opportunity:
CPA Ontario is currently in search of an Admissions Specialist to support complex and escalated international admissions files within the Registrar’s Office. In this role, you’ll serve as the primary contact for advanced inquiries and appeals, ensure service-level adherence, prepare external reports, support system testing and enhancements, and contribute to provincial and national committee work. You’ll partner closely with applicants, internal teams, and external stakeholders while supporting the Admissions Manager on ad-hoc special projects. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, manages multiple priorities with accuracy, and upholds CPA Ontario’s regulations and standards.

Driving the review of complex international admissions applications, applying your keen eye for detail and discretion to ensure fair, accurate, and high‑quality decisions.
Acting as the go-to expert for escalations while ensuring compliance with provincial SLA requirements.
Championing continuous improvement by testing and validating Salesforce enhancements, owning test cases, approving new functionality, and helping shape a smoother, more efficient admissions experience.
Playing a key role across the Admissions team by supporting legal matters, contributing to proposed regulatory updates for executive review, and representing CPA Ontario at stakeholder webinars and events.
Providing support to the Registrar on membership status appeals and taking the lead on preparing appeal response documentation.
Contributing to and leading projects and activities supporting organizational initiatives and ensuring ongoing process improvement.

A post-secondary graduate with a degree or diploma and a minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in a complex, rules and standards driven regulatory, membership or customer-oriented environment.
A dynamic and well-rounded administrator with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, able to work well under pressure, while meeting time-sensitive and competing deadlines.
Experienced with CRM systems such as Salesforce and comfortable learning new tools; experience with Power BI considered an asset.
Digitally fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Committed to ongoing training and a desire to learn new technology and continually expand upon knowledge and expertise.
A personable relationship builder and communicator with excellent customer service skills.
A strong communicator (verbally and written) with excellent interpersonal, presentation, relationship building, customer service and negotiating skills.

We support your well-being through industry-leading benefits, mental health resources, savings programs, and a sustainable approach to how work gets done.
We are committed to inclusion as a core part of how we operate, not as an afterthought.
We have a hybrid working environment, with three days a week on-site, complemented by 2 days of work-from-home time. We are intentional about that: the work we do benefits from being together. We want those days you work from home to be comfortable and offer a one-time bonus towards a home office when you start.
We invest in your growth through learning and professional development opportunities, stretch projects, secondments, and genuine paths for career progression.
We move quickly. The pace reflects the profession we serve; it can be demanding, but the work matters, and the team around you is invested in the same outcomes you have.
