The opportunity

Launch your career in management consulting while making a meaningful impact.

This role is for someone who has a knack for discovering patterns, storytelling, and communicating findings. With us, you’ll work on challenging projects, turning ideas and data into clear, compelling visual solutions. As an entry level Consultant Cartographer, you’ll inform transportation planning studies and enable our clients to make better decisions, communicate findings in public reports, drive policy or program changes, and inform infrastructure investments.

You’ll join our Young Professionals Program (YPP), an immersive learning experience managed by our Growth and Operations (GO) team. This program offers hands-on exposure to different areas of our business, allowing you to contribute to local, national, and international projects while sharpening your consulting expertise.

Your responsibilities

As part of our dynamic team, you’ll contribute to key aspects of the project lifecycle under the leadership of GO’s Vice President, with a focus on the transport sector. You will work on projects and business development across CPCS, with a focus on the Canadian Division activities. The Canadian Division leads projects across transportation and infrastructure economics with a focus on Canada. This includes projects such as: intercity rail and public transit planning and feasibility analysis; ports and marine sector economic impact and competitiveness studies, and goods movement planning. After completing the Young Professional Program, you are expected to continue your career at CPCS with the Canadian team.

In this role, you will:

Support business development, including preparation of proposals
Carry out sectoral analyses using quantitative data and qualitative reviews of the best Canadian and international practices
Assist with project management and implementation
Support adaptation of analyses into recommendations
Liaise with project teams, partner firms and clients
Engage in internal networking to build relationships and advance your development

What you bring to the team

A bachelor’s degree or higher in business, economics, finance, engineering, business law, geography, urban planning, or a closely related field is required. Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
Experience or interest in consulting, research, policy or other relevant roles
Experience or interest in learning about Canadian transportation policy making
Interest or experience in learning about challenges in the transport and/or energy sector
Leadership experience acquired through school, work or community involvement
Fluency in English is required; French is an asset
Technically skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability and willingness to travel within Canada as required, conditions permitting
The legal right to work in Canada and the ability to obtain in a reasonable timeframe a reliability status security clearance from the Government of Canada (sponsorship is not provided for this role)
