POSITION SUMMARY

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for growing revenue and strengthening customer relationships within an assigned territory. This role combines proactive business development, account management, product promotion, and responsive customer service. The successful candidate works closely with the Inside Sales team to convert opportunities, retain existing business, develop new accounts, and represent CPP professionally in the field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Own and actively manage the assigned sales territory, developing new business while growing and retaining existing accounts.

Conduct regular customer visits, prospecting, and cold calling to identify opportunities and expand CPP’s market presence.

Follow up on quotes, business-development opportunities, product opportunities, and RFOs to improve conversion and drive profitable growth.

Provide customers with accurate pricing, product availability, delivery information, and product recommendations.

Manage pricing and margin responsibly, protecting profitability while remaining competitive and customer-focused.

Build strong customer relationships through timely follow-up, urgency, clear communication, and effective resolution of customer concerns.

Promote CPP product lines to new and existing customers and identify complementary products that add value for the customer and CPP.

Work closely with Inside Sales to ensure seamless day-to-day account support, order follow-up, and customer communication.

Maintain accurate and timely CRM records, call reports, opportunity updates, and other required sales documentation.

Represent CPP professionally in all customer, vendor, and industry interactions.

Comply with applicable ISO quality standards, CPP standard operating procedures (SOPs), and established sales KPIs.

PERFORMANCE & TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS

Target an average of 6-8 meaningful sales calls or customer interactions per business day.

Maintain daily CRM and sales activity reporting.

Travel approximately 25-50% of the month, depending on territory and customer requirements.

Be available for occasional after-hours travel or customer support when required to effectively serve field-based customers.

Complete retention, pipeline, and other sales reports as required.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and ability to travel within the assigned territory.

Experience in outside sales, prospecting, cold calling, and developing long-term customer relationships.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.

Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to prioritize workload and manage a territory independently.

Strong attention to detail, commercial awareness, and a consistent sense of urgency.

Ability to collaborate effectively with Inside Sales, Operations, and other internal teams.

Positive, energetic, and solutions-oriented approach to customer service and business development.
