Senior Manager, Marketing
📍 Ottawa, ON - Hybrid, 3 days/week
We’re looking for a seasoned B2B marketing leader to join a Canadian organization operating at the intersection of international business, trade and government.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on. You’ll lead a small marketing team while taking ownership of the marketing strategy, annual plan and budget, and working closely with senior leadership to translate business priorities into effective marketing programs.
The organization’s marketing approach is primarily expertise and reputation-led, similar to professional services marketing, with a focus on building credibility with sophisticated B2B audiences while generating meaningful engagement and qualified inquiries.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute the annual marketing strategy, operational plan and budget
- Lead integrated B2B marketing programs across brand, content, digital, demand generation and thought leadership
- Build marketing programs that strengthen reputation, demonstrate expertise and engage key audiences
- Oversee digital marketing, website, social, paid media and marketing automation
- Use marketing automation and CRM tools to support segmentation, lead nurturing, engagement and campaign measurement
- Establish campaign objectives and KPIs, analyze performance and continuously optimize marketing activity
- Manage and coach two direct reports, providing hands-on guidance and professional development
- Manage agency and vendor relationships
- Partner with senior leaders and internal stakeholders to understand business priorities and recommend appropriate marketing strategies
- Develop business cases and budget recommendations for additional marketing investment when appropriate
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience, including people management experience
- Experience developing marketing strategies and budgets and leading teams through execution
- Strong integrated marketing background spanning content, digital, brand/reputation and demand generation
- Experience with marketing automation platforms is required; HubSpot experience is an asset
- Experience coaching and developing junior marketing professionals
- Strong understanding of campaign performance, measurement and optimization
- Comfortable working in a smaller, less-siloed environment and personally getting involved in execution
- Strong executive presence and ability to communicate with senior leadership
- Fluent English and intermediate/professional French
Why Join?
This is a high-ownership role within a lean organization where marketing has significant visibility and influence. You’ll have the opportunity to shape how the organization approaches B2B marketing, improve the effectiveness of the marketing function and work closely with senior leadership.
