Company Description
Croesus provides innovative, high-performance, and secure wealth management solutions that include portfolio management systems, portfolio rebalancing tools, and application programming interfaces (APIs). These solutions empower wealth management professionals to improve their productivity, enhance their client relationships, make informed decisions, and maximize the management of their assets under management.
Croesus’s mission is to provide a superior experience to its clients, users, partners, and employees and to positively impact the community. With more than 200 employees in its Montréal, Toronto, and Geneva offices, Croesus has won several industry awards for being a high-quality solution provider and an outstanding employer.
Position
Job Overview:
Croesus has built wealth management software for almost 40 years, helping financial advisors navigate dense, high-stakes workflows where design directly impacts speed and trust. We are hiring a Design Lead to own the quality of that user experience across all our existing and future products. In this role, you will lead our designers and researchers, establish the bar for excellence, and act as a hands-on design leader who elevates how the entire company leverages design.
Your Daily Responsibilities:
- Lead and Grow the Design Team: Conduct meaningful one-on-ones, set clear goals, provide honest feedback, and foster growth toward full-stack product design while protecting focus and setting team rituals (critiques, reviews, weekly goals).
- Define Design Vision & AI Standards: Establish the cross-product design vision alongside product and engineering leaders, holding design accountable to measurable outcomes and setting the standards for trustworthy, user-controlled, AI-driven advisor experiences.
- Raise Craft & Design System Standards: Define excellence through clear principles and a design system that engineering teams actually use, pushing for real-material prototypes, inclusive design, and deeply integrated AI workflows.
- Own Research & Customer Insights: Expand and manage the advisor user panel, voice-of-the-customer program, and preview initiatives, synthesizing user tests and usage data into actionable decisions for product teams.
- Solve Critical Design Challenges: Periodically step in as the lead designer on high-stakes problems - such as novel product concepts or complex workflows - to prove solutions, align executive decision-makers, and mentor the team through your practice.
What We Are Looking For
Strong proficiency in French is mandatory, as all internal meetings are conducted in French.
Education & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Craft Design Experience: Exceptional visual, interaction, and content design craft proven through a portfolio or detailed case studies showcasing complex products, hard trade-offs, and high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated Leadership: Proven ability to manage, mentor, and grow designers and researchers.
- End-to-End Ownership: A track record of taking end-to-end ownership over complex design initiatives - driving vision, protecting focus, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and holding design accountable to measurable outcomes.
Technical Skills:
- Design Systems & Figma: Familiarity with Figma and experience building or evolving scalable design systems that stick across engineering teams.
- Information Architecture Focus: Strong mastery of information architecture, capable of structuring dense data, complex navigation, and high-stakes financial workflows into intuitive, clear user experiences.
- AI-Native Workflow & Prototyping: Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Figma AI tools) in daily practice and designing trustworthy, transparent AI-driven product experiences that keep the user in control.
Soft Skills:
- Communication & Influence: Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate the value and logic of design to engineers, product managers, and executives in their respective languages.
- Strategic & Outcome-Focused Thinking: Ability to connect design decisions directly to business and advisor outcomes rather than focusing solely on output.
- Leadership: Discretion to know when to guide and coach the team and when to step in directly to solve the hardest design problems in the room.
Are you interested in this challenge? Do you believe you have the qualities and expertise required for this position? Please complete your application today.
Although all applications are carefully analyzed, we will communicate only with those selected. Thank you for your interest in Croesus.
