Position

Job Overview

As a Product Owner, you will play a strategic role in guiding the development team to maximize the value delivered across our WealthTech ecosystem. Working in close synergy with Product Managers, you will drive the evolution of our APIs, data integration workflows, and artificial intelligence initiatives. You will bridge the gap between our clients' business realities and the technical excellence required for critical headless and backend services. This key position will allow you to actively shape our technology roadmap.

Your Daily Responsibilities

  • Backlog Management and Prioritization: Structure and prioritize the backlog using the DEEP framework to keep the development team focused on the highest-business-value user stories.
  • API Design and Governance: Define functional specifications and non-functional requirements (performance, TPS throughput, rate limits) for integration services, while maintaining up-to-date OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
  • Agile Lifecycle: Actively participate in all ceremonies (3-week sprints, Daily Scrum, PI Planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives) and ensure adherence to Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) criteria.
  • Client Request and Integration Support: Manage change requests from initial impact analysis through deployment, while providing technical guidance to clients and partners throughout their integrations.
  • AI Innovation and Integration: Collaborate on delivering the 2027 roadmap by facilitating secure data exposure to AI assistants via an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server.
  • Communication and Traceability: Keep stakeholders regularly informed of progress and risks, while maintaining rigorous standards in Jira and technical documentation (data models, ADRs).

What We Are Looking For

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or in a similar role within an Agile B2B SaaS environment.
  • Operational understanding of WealthTech/FinTech (portfolio management, regulatory compliance, CRM2/MRCC2).
  • Recognized Scrum certification (CSPO, PSM), an asset.

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with API design, data models, and the SDLC.
  • Integrations and APIs (strong asset): Experience with API-driven products, working knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and JSON/XML formats, and the ability to read OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
  • Experience with inter-system data exchanges (file transfers, batch processing, reconciliation).
  • Experience with AI/ML (LLMs, RAG) or familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  • Knowledge of SQL or the ability to read code.

Soft Skills

  • Bilingualism & Communication: Fluency in French and English (written and spoken). English proficiency is essential for daily collaboration with major institutional clients and interprovincial teams.
  • Analytical Rigor and Attention to Detail: Ability to dissect complex logical flows, anticipate technical impacts, and maintain thorough technical documentation.
  • Collaborative Leadership and Prioritization: Proven ability to rally multidisciplinary teams, balance short-term urgency with long-term value, and negotiate priorities with diplomacy.
  • Technological Curiosity: Self-starter mindset with a keen interest in exploring emerging technologies (especially integrating data pipelines with AI).
