Position Summary

Lesco Realty is seeking a Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of its property management portfolio. The Bookkeeper will maintain accurate records, complete account reconciliations, support accounts payable and payroll activities, handling supplier invoicing, and prepare financial information for management. Key Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of bookkeeping, including revenue, payables, customers, and suppliers.
Maintain property books and records.
Complete data entry, account reconciliations, and payment processing accurately and efficiently.
Calculate and prepare payroll cheques.
Keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance accounts using Sage 50 accounting software.
Maintain complete and accurate property books, records, and general ledgers, and support the preparation of financial statements.
Post journal entries and prepare trial balances.
Reconcile bank, general ledger, and other accounts.
Prepare statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
Provide management with accurate and timely financial information.
Prepare and follow up on tenant notices and communicate with leasing leads, prospective tenants, and current tenants as required.
Adapt to new IT systems, property management systems, and software implementations.
Collaborate with the Controller, CPA, tax specialists, property managers, and other staff members.
Identify and support practical improvements to bookkeeping and accounting processes.

Qualifications And Skills

DEC in accounting, or a related field.
At least two years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Solid understanding of account reconciliations, general ledger accounting, accounts payable, and basic accruals.
Experience with Sage Accounting Software, Yardi, or property management accounting is an asset.
Experience or familiarity with multi-residential real estate is an asset.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Windows is an asset.
Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and the judgment to identify and investigate inconsistencies.
Ability to manage recurring deadlines independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
Comfortable completing repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy.
Work as a team player and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Principales responsabilités

Gérer tous les aspects de la tenue de livres, notamment les revenus, les comptes créditeurs, les clients et les fournisseurs.
Tenir à jour les livres et registres des propriétés.
Effectuer avec exactitude et efficacité la saisie de données, les rapprochements de comptes et le traitement des paiements.
Calculer et préparer les chèques de paie.
Tenir les registres financiers et établir, tenir à jour et équilibrer les comptes à l’aide du logiciel comptable Sage 50.
Assurer la tenue complète et exacte des livres, des registres et des grands livres généraux des propriétés, et contribuer à la préparation des états financiers.
Comptabiliser les écritures de journal et préparer les balances de vérification.
Effectuer le rapprochement des comptes bancaires, du grand livre général et d’autres comptes.
Préparer des rapports statistiques, financiers et comptables.
Fournir à la direction de l’information financière exacte en temps opportun.
Préparer les avis destinés aux locataires, et communiquer avec les responsables de la location, les locataires potentiels et les locataires actuels, selon les besoins.
S’adapter aux nouveaux systèmes informatiques, systèmes de gestion immobilière et logiciels mis en place.
Collaborer avec le contrôleur, CPA, les spécialistes en fiscalité, les gestionnaires immobiliers et les autres membres du personnel.
Cerner les possibilités d’amélioration pratiques des processus de tenue de livres et de comptabilité et contribuer à leur mise en œuvre.

Qualifications Et Compétences

DEC en comptabilité ou dans un domaine connexe.
Au moins deux ans d’expérience en tenue de livres ou en comptabilité.
Bonne compréhension des rapprochements de comptes, de la comptabilité du grand livre général, des comptes fournisseurs et des régularisations de base.
Une expérience avec le logiciel comptable Sage, Yardi ou en comptabilité de gestion immobilière constitue un atout.
Une expérience ou une connaissance du secteur immobilier multirésidentiel constitue un atout.
Une maîtrise pratique de Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word et Windows est un atout.
Bilingue en français et en anglais, tant à l'écrit qu'à l'oral.
Grand souci du détail, excellent sens de l’organisation et jugement nécessaire pour repérer et examiner les incohérences.
