About CRWS

Canadian Railway Services is a fast-growing rail engineering and project delivery firm operating across Canada. We refurbish and modernize rolling stock, deliver complex industrial projects, we work in a safety-critical environment where execution discipline and quality are non-negotiable. Building the systems and data infrastructure to support that work is central to how we scale. As we grow across multiple entities, we are actively building the operational infrastructure, systems, and team to support that growth, and this role is at the centre of that effort.

What You'll Do

As am Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of CRWS by maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the timely processing of accounting transactions.

You will manage accounts payable and receivable activities, support payroll administration, perform reconciliations, and assist with month-end and year-end financial processes. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will help ensure the integrity and reliability of the company's financial information.

Key Responsibilities

Process vendor invoices and prepare payments in accordance with internal approval procedures.
Issue customer invoices, monitor receivables, and follow up on outstanding accounts.
Record day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting system.
Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations.
Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
Support payroll processing and statutory remittances.
Process employee expense reports and ensure policy compliance.
Prepare basic financial reports and support audits and financial reviews.

What We're Looking For

Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping support role.
Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks or equivalent systems.
Experience supporting payroll processes and statutory remittances is an asset.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

Participer aux clôtures mensuelles et annuelles.
Soutenir le traitement de la paie et des remises gouvernementales.
Traiter les rapports de dépenses des employés.
Préparer des rapports financiers de base et soutenir les vérifications financières.

Profil recherché

Diplôme ou certificat en comptabilité ou domaine connexe.
Minimum de 5 ans d'expérience dans un poste de tenue de livres ou de soutien comptable.
Excellente connaissance des comptes fournisseurs, comptes clients, conciliations et grand livre.
Expérience avec QuickBooks ou un logiciel comptable équivalent.
Connaissance du traitement de la paie et des remises gouvernementales (atout).
Très bonne maîtrise d'Excel et des outils de production de rapports financiers.
Grande rigueur et excellent souci du détail.
