About the job

Overview

Our client is an established international underground hard-rock mining contractor, with operations across Canada and several other countries. They are known for investing in modern facilities, equipment and technology, and for giving their people the chance to work on projects around the world.

They are now looking for experienced Underground Service Crew workers to join their team at a remote mine site in northern British Columbia. The role runs on a FIFO roster of 14 shifts on and 14 shifts off, working 12-hour day and night shifts.

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing all underground services, keeping the mine running smoothly while working to the highest safety standards.

Our client offers a role where your skills are genuinely valued, along with clear opportunities to develop and grow your career. The package includes extended health and dental benefits from day one, charter travel from various hubs, camp accommodation and meals, and a matched retirement savings plan after three months.

If you are an experienced service crew member looking for a stable rotation with a contractor that backs its people, we would love to hear from you.

  • Install, grout, plate and tension cable bolts
  • Install and remove communications equipment, including leaky feeder and tele-remote systems
  • Assist with construction work such as ventilation walls, concrete forming and pouring, and pump installations and plumbing
  • Use hand tools safely and correctly
  • Keep work areas tidy and clean and maintain equipment to a high standard
  • Follow all PPE requirements in work areas
  • Take on other duties as directed by your Supervisor

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Willingness to support other underground development mining tasks as required
  • Strong communication skills and good radio etiquette
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions, manage your time and prioritise work to support mining requirements
  • A genuine eagerness to learn and grow
  • Comfortable with camp life on a rotational roster, physically demanding work (including lifting up to 50 pounds), moderate to high noise and extreme weather conditions
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment fit-for-duty medical, including drug and alcohol screening
