Original job description

Who we are

CTI is an architectural and furniture solutions dealer and we partner with our clients to execute commercial projects - curating, procuring, delivering, and supporting environments that help people perform. With over 40 years of experience, we have cultivated partnerships with over 500 national and global organizations, helping shape how and where work happens. We combine data-driven insights with design-forward thinking to create spaces that produce measurable business outcomes - where teams can perform at their best.

As a long-standing partner of Haworth, CTI has been recognized with the “Best in Class” award, reflecting strength in customer experience, operational excellence, and overall market performance.

Join a team that is redefining the future of workplace environments through continuous improvement, strong execution, and a clear focus on results.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Furniture Solutions, we are hiring a Workplace Consultant. You will lead consultative sales engagements for commercial furniture and workplace projects, developing client relationships, recommending solutions, and coordinating projects from initial consultation through installation. Working with clients, architects, designers, and internal teams, you will manage multiple projects, grow existing accounts, and develop new business across new office spaces and changes to existing workplaces.

This is an existing, full-time vacancy with a hybrid schedule requiring at least three days per week at our Mississauga office, Toronto showroom, partner sites, or client locations. You will travel to client sites across the Greater Toronto Area.

What’s in it for you

Build your business on an established foundation. You will represent a company with over 40 years of experience, relationships with more than 500 organizations, and a longstanding partnership with Haworth. You will have the opportunity to strengthen CTI's market presence by winning new business, expanding existing accounts, and developing relationships across the architecture and design community.

Influence decisions that shape workplaces. You will work directly with clients and design professionals to turn business needs into workplace solutions. From initial consultation through installation, you will influence purchasing decisions, guide complex projects, and see the results of your recommendations in the spaces clients create.

Drive growth and share in the results. You will take ownership of your sales pipeline, pursue new opportunities, and grow the value of your client portfolio. Your ability to win business, retain clients, and achieve sales goals will contribute to CTI's commercial performance while creating opportunities to increase your commission earnings.

As our new Workplace Consultant, you will

Develop client relationships. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their business needs and identifying opportunities to support their workplace goals. You will build relationships with architects, interior designers, and other industry partners to support current and future projects.
Recommend workplace solutions. You will qualify sales opportunities, conduct needs assessments, interpret floor plans, and recommend furniture and workplace solutions that balance design, function, and budget. You will present proposals and prepare accurate quotes and service agreements.
Coordinate project delivery. You will review specifications, confirm order details, and obtain the documentation required to process sales. Working with design, operations, and project management teams, you will stay involved through delivery and installation, address issues, and keep clients informed.
Manage priorities and sales results. You will oversee multiple client projects, balancing deadlines, changing requirements, and follow-up commitments. You will manage your sales pipeline, develop new business, and work toward sales, margin, and account growth goals.

What you bring

The sales experience. You have a track record of success in consultative sales, building client relationships and managing opportunities from discovery through close. Experience in commercial furniture, workplace solutions, or a related industry is an asset.
The design knowledge. You can read floor plans and discuss furniture layouts, product options, and the practical requirements of commercial spaces. Experience with contract furniture, office fit-outs, or moves, additions, and changes will help you contribute to client projects. An interior design qualification is not required.
The organizational skills. You can manage several projects simultaneously, prioritize competing deadlines, and follow through on details. You anticipate challenges, communicate updates, and coordinate with others to keep projects progressing.
The relationship skills. You ask thoughtful questions, listen to client needs, and communicate recommendations clearly. You build trust with clients and colleagues, work independently, and collaborate effectively with teams responsible for design and delivery.
The technical skills and flexibility. You are comfortable using Microsoft Office and sales management tools. Experience with Project Spec or CAD is an asset. You can travel between client sites, the Mississauga office, and downtown Toronto locations and attend occasional industry events. A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle are preferred.

Why join

At CTI Working Environments, we stay true to our core values every step of the way.

We believe in being inclusive, where everyone feels welcome and valued. We treat each other with respect, creating a positive and supportive environment where diverse perspectives are encouraged and drive better outcomes. Above all, we work as a cohesive team, knowing that collaboration and unity help us achieve our best results, especially in complex, fast-paced environments where alignment is critical.

Our Executive Team is committed to supporting our top-calibre professionals, and together we build lasting relationships for long-term success, career growth, and meaningful impact.

Our values shape how we work every day. We encourage curiosity, share insights, and foster continuous learning. We believe in "Real Talk" to find the best solutions, taking responsibility and truly "owning it" in everything we do, empowering individuals to contribute ideas and drive meaningful change. We learn from experience, celebrate success, and stay focused on what matters most, ensuring alignment, accountability, and results.

We live by C.A.R.E. - Caring, Asking questions, Reciprocating, and Encouraging, embedding these behaviours into how we collaborate, communicate, and deliver every day. At the core of it all, we prioritize "we" over "I" because we know that together, we can achieve so much more, creating a sense of belonging and shared purpose across the organization.

If you want to be part of a value-driven culture that embraces leadership, knowledge, innovation, and integrity, and where your growth is intentionally supported and recognized, join us.

Compensation

The base salary for this role is $70,000 CAD annually, plus commission, with the potential to earn $120,000 CAD or more in total annual compensation based on sales performance. For candidates with significant relevant experience, a higher guaranteed base salary may be considered while they establish their client portfolio.

What you can expect from our interview process:

A virtual interview with a Talent Advisor to discuss your interest in joining the company and in the role. The conversation will be recorded using BrightHire, an AI-powered video interview tool. More details will be shared when you are invited to interview.
A virtual interview with the Director of Furniture Solutions to discuss your experience and approach to consultative sales.
An online Calliper assessment.
An in-person 360-degree interview with representatives from across the business, focused on client relationships, collaboration, and project delivery.
An in-person conversation with the Director of Furniture Solutions to review your Calliper assessment results and discuss your alignment with the role.
Meet with the Vice President of Commercial Sales and President.
