Cyclic Materials is building a resilient circular supply chain for rare earth elements and other critical materials. Through our fully integrated proprietary technology platform, we recover rare earths from end-of-life products and transform them into high-purity materials used to produce new permanent magnets. These magnets are critical to the modern economy, underpinning AI, automotive, e-mobility, electronics, semiconductor, energy, defense, and other advanced manufacturing sectors.

Founded in 2021, Cyclic Materials has rapidly become a category leader in rare earth recovery, achieving commercial operations in less than five years. We currently operate facilities in Ontario and Arizona, with further expansion underway in South Carolina. Backed by investment accounts advised by T. Cyclic Materials is building a circular supply chain for rare earth elements and other critical materials. We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Toronto Finance team and help maintain accurate, timely financial records as the business grows.

Reporting to the Director, Finance, you will support day-to-day accounting and the monthly close across Cyclic entities, working with colleagues in Finance and with teams across the business. This role is suited to an early-career accounting professional who takes ownership of assigned work, asks good questions, and is ready to build broader accounting skills in a growing company.

What you will do

Prepare and post routine journal entries, accruals, and other month-end adjustments, with appropriate supporting documentation and review.
Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts, including bank, credit card, prepaid, fixed-asset, and intercompany balances; investigate differences and follow them through resolution.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice coding, payment and collection follow-up, customer or vendor account reconciliations, and issue resolution.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities; maintain close schedules and deliver assigned work accurately and on time.
Review transactions for appropriate coding, approvals, supporting documentation, entity, and period; raise unusual or incomplete items for review.
Assist with cash, expense, and balance-sheet reconciliations and help maintain clear audit trails in the accounting system.
Support fixed-asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation schedules, and project-cost tracking.
Help compile information for Canadian tax filings, external audits, statutory reporting, and internal management reports, under the direction of senior Finance team members.
Use the ERP and spreadsheet tools to maintain accounting records and improve recurring schedules, documentation, and processes.
Partner with Finance colleagues and other departments to answer routine accounting questions and support consistent financial procedures.

What you bring

Formal Accounting qualifications, Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Three to five years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to general ledger accounting and month-end close; experience in a multi-entity or growing business is an asset.
Working knowledge of debits and credits, account reconciliations, accruals, and basic financial statements.
Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables; experience with an ERP system is an asset.
Careful attention to detail, sound organization, and the ability to manage recurring deadlines and follow up on open items.
Clear written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, service-minded approach.
Integrity and good judgment when handling financial records and confidential information.
Prior experience working in manufacturing sector and publicly listed organizations is considered an asset.

Professional development

Progress toward a Canadian CPA designation is an asset. Cyclic Materials will support the successful candidate in building technical accounting knowledge, taking on greater ownership, and developing toward future roles in Finance.

Pay Range: $60,000 CAD - $75,000 CAD
