About the Role

Thermodynamics Professional Engineer Job Description In your role, you will support new aircraft program development and in service aircraft in all thermodynamics related issues, including aircraft ice/fog protection systems performance, zonal pressure, temperature and flowrate analysis, avionics cooling, and general thermal analysis of systems and structures, and help the Global 7000 / 8000 thermodynamic team support the activities related to bleed air systems (wing ice protection system, environmental control system, ducting system, etc.). You will perform engineering duties such as the planning of Thermodynamics, Aero Thermal analysis, Heat Transfer, Fluid Dynamics, Aero Mechanics, and Acoustics, and design, develop, and test a variety of power plants, aircrafts and parts.

Responsibilities

  • Support new aircraft program development and in service aircraft in all thermodynamics related issues.
  • Support aircraft ice/fog protection systems performance, zonal pressure, temperature and flowrate analysis, avionics cooling, and general thermal analysis of systems and structures.
  • Understand the systems that are being analyzed and how they interface with the aircraft and other aircraft systems.
  • Communicate with internal systems/structures groups, system suppliers, and flight test teams to resolve issues, plan tests, analyze and certify modifications.
  • Help the Global 7000 / 8000 thermodynamic team support the activities related to bleed air systems (wing ice protection system, environmental control system, ducting system, etc.).
  • Perform engineering duties such as the planning of Thermodynamics, Aero Thermal analysis, Heat Transfer, Fluid Dynamics, Aero Mechanics, and Acoustics.
  • Design, develop, and test a variety of power plants, aircrafts and parts.
  • Establish specifications, perform analysis, and conduct performance tests.
  • Predict new and derivative noise levels and design elements of vehicles and systems to ensure compliance with noise regulations, specifications and guarantee requirements.
  • Work on aerodynamics, stability and control, flutter and vibration, landing loads, aircraft or system structures, hydrodynamics, propulsion system, fuels and combustion, aero-acoustics, aero-mechanics, heat transfer and instrumentation.

Qualifications

  • You must possess a bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • A Master's degree including courses in fluid dynamics, atmospheric icing and heat transfer would be an asset.

Required Skills

  • You have knowledge of MS Office software and familiarity with the various aircraft pneumatics systems and their modeling is essential.
  • You must possess good interpersonal skills as well as good written and oral communication skills.
  • You must be available to travel on short term assignments.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with CATIA V5 and with programming languages such as Fortran 77/95, Visual Basic and C/C++ would be an asset.
