CYNC Architecture is a small, hands-on architectural practice in Calgary working on a diverse range of public, institutional, educational, healthcare, commercial and renovation projects.
We are looking for an experienced Intermediate Architectural Technologist who is comfortable taking ownership of technical project delivery while remaining actively involved in drawing production and coordination.
This is a hands-on position. We are looking for someone who enjoys working directly in Revit and AutoCAD and can move comfortably between construction documentation, consultant coordination, technical review and construction-phase support.
The role will include:
- Production and coordination of architectural drawings from design development through permit, tender and IFC documentation.
- Active day-to-day use of Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
- Coordination of architectural backgrounds and consultant information.
- Existing-condition review, site measurements and field verification as required.
- Preparation of details, schedules and technical documentation.
- Support for development permit, building permit, code and accessibility requirements.
- Construction administration support, including RFIs, shop drawings, site instructions, change documentation, field reviews and deficiency tracking.
- QA/QC and interdisciplinary drawing review.
- Working collaboratively with architects, intern architects, consultants and clients.
- General project and office support as required.
Responsibilities
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Architectural Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Has approximately 5 or more years of relevant architectural experience; Canadian experience is strongly preferred.
- Has strong working proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD; experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360 and Bluebeam is an asset.
- Has strong construction-documentation, detailing and technical coordination skills.
- Can organize and advance drawing packages with limited day-to-day supervision.
- Is comfortable coordinating directly with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil and building-envelope consultants.
- Has a practical working knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements and permitting processes.
- Experience with renovations, institutional, educational, healthcare or other complex existing-building work is an asset.
- Communicates clearly, takes ownership of assigned work and works well in a small collaborative practice.
This is a full-time, office-based position in Calgary. Our regular office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. CYNC does not currently offer routine work-from-home or flex-time arrangements.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and capabilities. Employee benefits are available.
