Role Description The Bookkeeper is a full-time, on-site role based in Brampton, ON, responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records for D & D Haulage. Day-to-day tasks include recording transactions, preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements. The Bookkeeper will work with accounting software to manage payables, receivables, payroll data, and expense tracking, ensuring compliance with relevant financial policies and procedures. This role collaborates with management to provide clear financial reporting and supports budgeting, forecasting, and periodic audits as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong bookkeeping skills, including accurate recording of daily transactions and maintenance of ledgers.
- Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements for internal use and external reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software and related digital tools, and understanding of basic finance concepts.
- Experience posting and reviewing journal entries, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Relevant education in accounting, finance, or business (certificate, diploma, or degree preferred).
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting, ideally in a transportation or logistics environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with operations and management teams.
- Commitment to ethical financial practices and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
