Join Our Team: CAD CabinetVision Technician
Are you a detail-oriented drafter who loves seeing designs come to life? At D3 Custom Cabinets, we don’t just build high-end custom cabinetry; we build a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. We are looking for a CAD CabinetVision Technician to bridge the gap between digital design and our factory floor.
If you are someone who enjoys lean manufacturing thinking and "fixing what bugs you" and wants to work in a lean manufacturing environment where your ideas actually matter, we want to meet you.
What You'll Do
As our CV Technician, you are the engine that keeps our factory running. You’ll be responsible for:
- Project Processing: Importing orders from our online ordering system into Cabinet Vision, modifying drawings, and submitting them for client approval.
- Production Support: Issuing production packages with completed checklists to the shop floor.
- Coordination: Ordering job-specific materials and ensuring everything is on-site before production kicks off.
- Innovation: Identifying and implementing 3-5 process improvements per week. We use GembaDocs and video to document best practices, if you find a better way to do something, you’ll teach the rest of us!
- Collaboration: Participating in morning meetings and bi-weekly check-ins (we skip the boring annual reviews in favor of consistent feedback).
What We Offer:
- Compensation: ranging between $25.00-$30.00/hour with overtime options.
- Growth: In-depth training on UCS programming, Lean Learning, and hands-on shop floor experience.
- Benefits: Health benefits (co-pay) after probation and RRSP Matching after 12 months.
- Flexibility: 8-hour shifts with a flexible window (start/end anytime between 6 AM and 5 PM).
- Culture: Monthly team lunches, fresh fruit/treats on Mondays, and a team that shares inspiring books and videos.
- Vacation: 2 weeks paid vacation for full-time staff.
The Ideal Candidate
- Industry Experience: Experience specific to cabinet design, drawing, installation etc is essential. Minimum of 2 years.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient in Kitchen Cabinet design software (Cabinet Vision experience is a major plus).
- Detail Obsessed: You take pride in "measure twice, cut once" digital precision.
- Lean Mindset: You enjoy streamlining workflows and hate wasted effort.
- Flexible: You’re willing to jump in where needed, whether it’s helping the shop clarify a drawing or taking your turn in the office cleaning rotation.
Schedule & Requirements
- Full-Time: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Location: On-site. The first 7-10 days include hands-on shop training (Steel-toed boots required).
- Start Date: Immediately.
- Excellent English communication skills (Verbal/written)
