Position Overview
The Industrial Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of specialized industrial cleaning and maintenance services, including vacuum truck operations, confined space entry, high-pressure water blasting, and hot wash services. This role ensures all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards while maintaining strong client relationships and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day industrial service operations, including scheduling crews, equipment allocation, and job execution across multiple sites.
- Oversee vacuum truck services (wet and dry), ensuring proper handling, transport, and disposal of materials in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Supervise confined space entries, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, hazard assessments, permitting, atmospheric monitoring, and rescue readiness.
- Coordinate and manage high-pressure water blasting and hot wash services, ensuring proper technique, equipment use, and surface integrity.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on-site, maintaining clear communication, addressing concerns, and ensuring service expectations are met or exceeded.
- Develop job plans, hazard assessments, and safe work procedures prior to project execution.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable occupational health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Lead, train, and mentor field personnel, promoting a strong safety culture and continuous improvement.
- Monitor equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and operational readiness to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Track project performance, including labor, equipment utilization, and cost control, and report on operational metrics.
- Collaborate with sales and estimating teams to support project scoping, pricing, and client proposals.
- Respond to emergency service calls and coordinate rapid deployment of crews and equipment when required.

Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing field crews in high-risk environments. 3-5 years’ experience is required.
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Proven experience in industrial services, environmental services, or related fields. 3-5 years of experience is required.
- Strong working knowledge of vacuum truck operations, confined space procedures, high-pressure water blasting, and industrial cleaning techniques.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., confined space standards, WHMIS, OSHA or provincial equivalents).
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety plans, and job specifications.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with a focus on efficiency and risk mitigation.
- Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office, along with the ability to adapt to new technologies efficiently.
- Additional certifications (e.g., confined space entry, fall protection, first aid) considered an asset.
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel to industrial job sites, including plants, refineries, and construction environments.
- Exposure to physically demanding conditions, including confined spaces, elevated work areas, and varying weather conditions.
- Requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and reaching, as well as safely entering and exiting trucks with ease.
- Availability for extended hours, on-call rotations, and emergency response situations.
