About The Role

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our diverse and rapidly growing team in Montreal. The successful applicant will be responsible for leveraging client data to produce rapid insights through automated reporting and custom analytics. This individual has experience manipulating large and often complex datasets, both structured and unstructured. We are looking for individuals from a wide range of backgrounds with demonstrated quantitative and problem-solving skills. We value creativity, hard work and on-the-job excellence. The ideal candidate is someone who is highly motivated, detail oriented, curious and who seeks to take on a challenging role. We need someone who can work effectively with members of our data engineering, research and digital teams to deliver data-driven products to organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Translate a client’s overarching business objectives into requirements and then into discrete projects that aim to provide insight and/or generate eﬃciencies.
Access, understand, query, and transform data from a large variety of data sources, each with its own set of intricacies.
Design, develop, and deploy custom automated reporting solutions with the goal of providing clients with rapid, actionable insights.
Design and coordinate experimental protocols in various departments to identify strategic eﬃciencies.
Communicate insights and methodologies clearly and succinctly to both technical and lay audiences.
Special projects, and other duties as required.

Candidate Qualifications

Strong problem solving skills.
2+ years experience writing complex SQL queries to transform and extract data from relational databases or data warehouses.
Experience writing R and/or Python code aimed at manipulating and analyzing large datasets.
Understanding of statistical principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Fully bilingual in English and French.
Ability to coordinate across teams.

Knowledge of English is required for this position as the incumbent will be required to interact daily with a predominantly English-speaking clientele located outside of Quebec.

Description du poste

Nous sommes à la recherche d'un(e) analyste de données qui rejoindra notre équipe diversifiée et en pleine croissance à Montréal. La personne retenue sera responsable de l'exploitation des données des clients, afin de produire des rapports automatisés et des analyses personnalisées. Cette personne a de l'expérience dans la manipulation de grands ensembles de données, souvent complexes, autant structurées que non structurées. Nous recherchons des personnes d'horizons divers ayant des compétences démontrées en résolution de problèmes et en méthodes quantitatives. Nous valorisons la créativité, le travail acharné et l’excellence au travail. La personne idéale est très motivée, soucieuse du détail, curieuse et à la recherche de défis. Elle doit pouvoir travailler eﬃcacement avec les membres de nos équipes d'ingénierie des données, de recherche et de numérique.

Responsabilités

Interpréter les objectifs globaux du client et les traduire en exigences visant à fournir des renseignements (« insights ») et/ou à générer des gains d'eﬃcacité.
Accéder, comprendre, interroger et transformer des données provenant d’une grande variété de sources, chacune avec son propre ensemble de subtilités.
Concevoir, développer et déployer des rapports sur mesure et automatisés, dans le but de fournir aux clients des informations rapides et exploitables.
Concevoir et coordonner des protocoles expérimentaux dans divers départements afin d'identifier des gains d'eﬃcacité stratégiques.
Communiquer des idées et des méthodologies de manière claire et succincte, autant à un public technique que non-initié.
Participer à des projets spéciaux et autres tâches connexes selon les besoins.

Exigences

D’excellentes compétences en résolution de problèmes.
2+ ans d'expérience en rédaction de requêtes SQL complexes, pour transformer et extraire des données de bases de données relationnelles ou d'entrepôts de données.
Expérience en Python et/ou R afin de manipuler et analyser de grands ensembles de données.
Connaissance de techniques et de concepts statistiques.
Excellentes aptitudes de communication écrite et orale.
Bilinguisme français et anglais.
Capacité à collaborer avec les membres d’autres équipes.

La connaissance de la langue anglaise est exigée pour ce poste, car les fonctions de la personne titulaire nécessiteront des communications quotidiennes avec une clientèle majoritairement anglophone située à l'extérieur du Québec.
