Job Description
As an Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to real-world projects related to shipbuilding, ship repair, and naval modernization. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to analyze requirements, gather and structure information, participate in the development of solutions, and support project execution. This internship will allow you to apply your academic knowledge, develop your expertise, and gain exposure to the operational realities of a shipyard environment.
You May Be Called Upon To
- Gather and analyze technical or operational information from various stakeholders;
- Participate in the planning, coordination, and monitoring of activities or projects;
- Analyze drawings, specifications, data, processes, work methods, or operational requirements;
- Prepare, update, and organize technical documentation, including procedures, work instructions, reports, work plans, tracking tools, and reference data;
- Participate in the research, evaluation, or implementation of technical, digital, or operational solutions;
- Support the analysis of resource, material, equipment, system, or service requirements;
- Conduct surveys, validations, tests, measurements, or observations on-site and across various operational areas;
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Quality, Health and Safety, Maintenance, and other organizational functions;
- Participate in identifying and resolving technical or operational issues;
- Contribute to monitoring project progress and identifying deviations or required adjustments;
- Recommend improvements to processes, tools, work methods, or existing systems;
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and the standardization of practices.
Qualifications
- Are currently enrolled in a university program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field;
- Demonstrate curiosity, attention to detail, autonomy, and strong analytical skills;
- Possess strong problem-solving and synthesis abilities;
- Have excellent organizational and prioritization skills;
- Are able to work on multiple activities or projects simultaneously;
- Enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams;
- Have effective communication and technical writing skills;
- Demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to learn in a hands-on, dynamic environment;
- Are proficient with Microsoft Office applications;
- Have a functional knowledge of both French and English, particularly for reviewing technical documentation.
