Manual Tester (Bilingual – Mandarin & English)

Position Details:

• Job Title: Manual Tester (Bilingual – Mandarin & English)
• Number of Positions: 2
• Experience Required: 3+ years for one position and 5+ years for the other
• Work Model: Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office
• Location: Downtown Toronto
• Employment Type: 1-year contract, with the flexibility to join Dawn InfoTek as a full-time, permanent employee while working with our Canadian banking client.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute testing strategies and test plans for the English-to-Mandarin UI conversion of existing online banking applications.
• Review existing English UI content, business rules, screen flows, labels, messages, and terminology to establish testing baselines.
• Perform comprehensive GUI validation, localization testing, and linguistic QA to ensure Mandarin translations are accurate, contextually appropriate, and natural.
• Execute functional and regression testing to ensure that the UI conversion does not introduce defects or unintended changes to existing application functionality.
• Identify, document, track, and report UI/UX defects, translation issues, and layout problems, collaborating with development and business teams to resolve them.
• Conduct accessibility testing in accordance with applicable AODA/WCAG requirements, including text presentation, readability, navigation, screen reader compatibility, and user interaction.
• Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, test execution results, and defect reports.
• Collaborate with Business Owners, Business Analysts, UX designers, and development teams throughout the testing lifecycle to support quality assurance and sign-off.
• Participate in Agile activities, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of QA / Manual Testing experience, with candidates having 5+ years also encouraged to apply.
• Experience in enterprise technology environments, including functional testing, regression testing, GUI validation, visual QA, and defect lifecycle management.
• Experience in localization, internationalization, or multilingual application testing.
• Ability to prepare test plans, test cases, and test data; execute test cases; document results; and report and track defects.
• Experience using test management and defect-tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of localization challenges, including text truncation, font rendering, character encoding, and layout inconsistencies.
• Professional proficiency in both Mandarin and English, with strong written Mandarin skills to validate UI content and translation accuracy.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience working in an Agile delivery environment.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience testing online banking or digital banking applications.
• Familiarity with digital accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1/2.2 and AODA.
• Experience using assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver.
• Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated environments.
